KIRA is the same guy that made Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion and Lost in Vivo, two great indie horrors game I thoroughly enjoy. Now I have to have a moral quarrel over playing Lunacid or not because he turned into a deranged Bluesky protogen furry v-tuber troon (dime a dozen amongst anyone I dared like pre-2020).

I did play Lunacid when it came out, unaware of who Kira really was, I gotta say the release update messsage being "Sorry for making a shitstorm by putting Pronouns, I only did it to piss people off" was a fucking whiplash and a half but, playing the game it's alright, it feels like a watered down Kingsfield game which is what you'd buy it for, the only points against it is that Combat is too easy, one of the areas is the vampire area and it feels like Kira was masturbating himself to it's existance, and the endings suck, they just fucking suck, and the "secret" slime character was very cringe, you could say, not really funny enuff to warrant it's existance, since it hurts verisimilitude.

The supposed unofficial endings is that you complete the game, the hidden ones that Kira clearly wants you to attain are one where you kill the entire unniverse bc its all rotten and you just gotta stop the suffering man, and the other is a secret one where you are shown a VHS where you are repeteadly told shit like "You gotta wake up from your dream." and "AHHHH I DO NOT BELONG HERE", which felt really embarrassing back when I didn't know the dude but now that I know he's a trannie feel like he just wanted to insert that shit there in some way.

Since the last "update" message about his work is literally a semi apology for lazying around and trolls remorse, I do not have hope for any of his work going forward even if Lunacy was alright with hints of let downs.
 
I will always maintain that Troonacid is a shit game that is a massive mess of art style clashing assets and boring and annoying combat and exploration. I played it for an hour and a half, maybe a little bit more but not enough to not get my money back from a Steam refund. I knew what the game was going to be when I encountered the gaggle of quirky, artstyle breaking anime furry girl OCs that looked like they dragged themselves out of the deepest depths of goonslop Twitter. Fucking garbage game, I hope "Kira" kills himself.

People will dunk on you for this, but you are 100% correct. Even back then all the signs with Spooky house were there. For me the biggest red flag was the fact that apparently the dev for some reason felt obligated to voice act for a little ghost girl character. Bro didn't have a single female friend to take up such a simple task? That's a rethorical question, oh course he just wanted to skinwalk a dead child. I felt somewhat grossed out and confused by it years ago, because even with the voice changer to a back then non-peaked normie me HE SOUNDED UNDOUBTEBLY MALE.

Considering the creepy boykisser sticker in his other game, Kira is 100000% a nonce. May his suicide be painful, damaging and failed.

I liked hypnospace outlaw because of how good of an early half of the 00s internet representation it is, but the story was so stupid. The ending was really gay too. The devs said "wait what do you mean you guys thought we were trying to redeem the bad guy at the end?"

Actually it's a very inaccurate depiction according to a steam review from some millennial who used his real face as a profile lmao, I found to be true and honest, basically criticizing the inaccuracy and boring nature of the game. Web pages were way better than the decade its supposed to represent which is 1999. By 1998 webpages looked better than what the game shows. Just very fucking sad how this dog shit game will be what people think of in regards to the old internet.

Hypnospace devs are trannies or obfuscate history intentionally to fit their biases and basically bad satire of the era on par with how people shit all over the 1950s. Don't let the quality and lack of woke shit fool you. Copying a few webpage designs and understanding the era are two different things. I'm tired of people who defend this shitty fucking game over fake nostalgia for an era they never understood or cared to research more. It's a shitty tranny janny simulator with a plot that makes no sense and an overrated piece of artist shit that people praise for merely poorly imitating a bygone era. Nothing more. So explain the shittier web performance that proves the developers didn't come from that era. Explain the reason they went for low quality pages when reality suggests otherwise. Did this universe have an explanation for why shit functioned nothing like 1999? Did you use the internet before 2000? Do you realize geocities is not a very valid basis for personal webpages and clearly the devs focused on only that to copy the "culture" without a clear understanding of the specific snapshot of time?

It's like if I made a 2000s era alt reality game and only base it on 4chan and something awful and then make it YIIK or frutiger aero styled without a care for how our reality really was. All aesthetic and no substance or believability if you're a historian like I am. A real dev would have simply researched "deep web" webpages and things that farmers here have recommended to take a blast from the past instead of a tranny's nostalgia collection.

Creator was 12 in 1999. There's nothing more to say. I don't care how based he is, if he's a fellow follower of Jesus or anything else. He didn't do a great job here and I don't see the appeal of his universe because it's so flawed and unreal. Seems to me the target audience are people who were born in the 80s and have some nostalgia for the good old days. I enjoy the period of time too but it's not accurate and I'm tired of people pretending it is.

I don't get what's so wrong with focusing on geocities or how geocities is "inaccurate" to the rest of the era or how - apart from anachronistic attitudes - Hypnospace is actually that inaccurate.
I also don't understand what's so overplayed about Hypnospace's website aesthetic. Can you show me some examples of what you consider "era-accurate" real-life webpages for comparison?

For your consideration: Analgesic Productions (moar like Anal Productions amirite)

Sean Hogan and Jonathan Kittaka were e-famous indie devs pre-indie boom. Sean is "Taiwanese/Japanese/Irish-American", Jonathan is claimed to be at least partially Jap. Both trooned out. Jonathan is now "Marina Kittaka" and Sean a homogay "nonbuynary" anime slug larper "Melos Han-Tani", which is honestly more secondhand-embarrassing than a regular MtF troonout. Both of them are longtime members of the indie game tranny rat king and get goatee nominations and festival awards from fellow trannies.

Their first game (pre-troonout) was Anodyne, a fun/creepy Zelda clone with zero faggotry in the finished game. As development diaries show, they had troony inclinations back then and intended to make the make the whole cast nonbuynary males (a fun insight into troon thinking: they know what sex nonbuynaries actually are and are completely powerless to imagine a genderless fictional character). The most offensive things that actually are in the game are peddit-tier memberberry references. Sean gets screaming mad if you point out his Zelda clone is not original; he's also very insistent the whole game is an "allegory", the plot hasn't happened, and you're a retard for playing.

If you ignore Sean's braying, Anodyne is mostly wholesome: you play as a boy named "Young" (formerly Chuck, this is not a joke) who confronts a dangerous adult world, rejects cynicism, saves his male friend and befriends a shonen-love-interest-type girl in the process. The non-wholesome elements, I think, are a metaphor for child grooming (which the protagonist is repulsed by and rejects). All in all, not for actual children, but not a bad game, I'd even recommend it, but knowing any intended meaning is assuredly gross and vile sours the experience.


Their second game was this vomit-inducing shitskin abomination. Even the screenshots make me motion-sick. (Later games are worse.) It failed even by Sean's admission and almost 41%'d his gayming career, but was nevertheless proclaimed the goatee of 2016 by Vice (rat king tranny journo).

The blob in the center is the fat dyke protagonist. The three guys on the left are Evil White Males. The other orange shirt is the dyke's (work) partner (her face is covered with boils). Between the two oranges is the pus woman's tranny "wife"/widower, and rightmost is the tranny narrator. (In the end, everyone else except the narrator is dead from global warming.) It's during the production of this game that Sean announced himself to be "model minority no more", thus the aggressively ugly "art". The second picture is the updated art. It's less ugly but symbolic: the protagonist shields herself from White and reaches for Brown.

Sephonie is a 3d vomit platformer with casual color-matching segments. One review says:
I can appreciate the fact that this game came from a team of two, but that doesn't justify a ~$30 price tag when half the game play loop is Bejeweled and the other half plays like a second-year course final at Full Sail University.

Notably, none of the mentioned IRL locations is in the game. One of the soyentists is morbidly obese.

I think most positive reviews are because of LGBTQ+ tag but it is strange as the game is about doing research and in the end finding out about a future pandemic and is inspired by COVID-19 and the characters sexuality does not really bring anything important into the game and almost everyone in the game that you meet or hear about in stories are part of LGBTQ+. I think like this game was intended to be all about LGBTQ+ scientists but in the middle of the development process it was switched to be about COVID-19.
Notably, the game's page has no BBQ tag now. (On Steam, you can manually force and manually exclude tags from your game.) Seems like Sean and Jon have finished their BBQ affinity scam and switched to tricking and trying to groom unuspecting normies into playing. From what I gather from the reviews, the plot is "we were foolishly trying to explore an island, but what we really needed to explore is our sexuality", the individual Taiwanese-blobs fuse into a polycule and everyone dies from covid, the end.


Angeline Era is their most recent abomination in which (unfortunately I lost the link) Sean decided to use more "conventionally attractive" characters, for mass appeal. This amounted to putting a pinup-style big-titted giantess into the game's final promo art:

The fag in the foreground is the protagonist, Sean's Japanese/Irish-American's self-insert. Unfortunately for me, this promo art de-emphasizes his metal brassiere, worn over a crop-top formal shirt, but I swear there was a full-body piece of promo or concept art somewhere and it was abominable.

The game is about the protagonist's inner conflict about his father trooning out. Did Sean's IRL father troon out? That'd explain things.

It's funny you mention this game. I've had a diatribe about a certain part of it stored for a rainy day.
In Nitrorad's review, he mentions a semi-obscure secret with a pretty captivating premise. An interesting little snatch.
I was intrigued for multiple reasons: It begins by mimicking a glitch but unlike most games it actually feels like one and isn't over the top. The surreal prerendered environment with the faceless SMT characters is a good aesthetic, too.
So, a memorable little aside?
...except, no. They managed to totally fuck it up in the actual game.
Notice how this "little aside" is stretched thin with asset reuse and comically long monologues*. Notice how they over-expose you to the winding corridor** gimmick. Notice how there's a lesbian subplot because the authors are troons.
*Which the uploader has thankfully spared us from by holding down the "accelerate text" button
**(In a vacuum this would be good game design ...but it's entirely counterproductive for horror)
Nitrorad's video vs the actual game is a masterclass in how pacing and author weirdness can totally fuck something up. Anyway, glad I didn't play this shit.

I watched Game Grumps play this the other day and was like "there is no way this is made by an actual female." It's an FPS with autistic movement mechanics, for one. The vibe is aggressively, performatively hyperfeminine. I increasingly associate "serving cunt" aesthetics with troons and drag queens. In my experience, real honest women who are this femme are unlikely to be found developing games; most people (women especially) who would bother programming something like an FPS are autists, and female autists of that flavor are usually allergic to "girlypop".

Did a little digging and sure enough, troon dev. I hate how rarely I am wrong when I clock one like this.

It's the same shooter loop that Ultrakill spawned the difference is it has that in your face "radical" type of marketing we saw in the 90s only it doesn't work here. They made a game for this type of people:

Agreed, what girl on earth would actually enjoy what's in so many troon games? They're so fast paced and just kind of psychotic in their presentation. Creultysquad, ultrakill, they're just kind of ugly and creepy. GF really likes the Diablo pc games, I would consider those 'normal' creepy. Like skeletons and blood etc But troon games look creepy like they're made by someone who is truly unwell haha.

Dualposting but stereotypes exist for a reason and people want to keep deflecting away from them. Most women will play cozy games that require low maintenance something they can jump into while doing something else instead of needing time to invest in. Girlypop is obviously made by someone who 'thinks' they get actual women so they play into stereotypes to the point it comes back to being negative stereotypes. As I said before when this game was first being shown here this game feels like something someone would make to make fun of this idea of a "girly boomer shooter" but it is played straight which is hilariously bizarre.

Bit of a tism rant because I like talking about these kinds of things but this comes from a cognitive disconnect because as we know all the shit they do to transition medically and physically does weird shit to your brain lol. What we notice about a lot of these games is that they have obsessions with things being broken but an attempt to appear stable. There's all sorts of weird colors and things will appear ugly and gritty. Girlypop is the ultimate Troonslop example because it shows the obsession with extreme bright overused loud colors but with a "masculine" presentation as a shooter.
