Honestly, he is just stagnating and getting slightly more unhinged every month, not exactly the sensational meltdown or trashfire a cow of the year needs.

Now, if he gets arrested for fedposting, wins his lawsuit and is so flushed with victory that he sues 10 people calling him fat again, or if he actually gets off his ass and tries to violently demonstrate Drumpfler, he might have good chances.
With Pat though, laziness is always the secure bet.

There isn't any direct evidence. It's mainly just:

1. Previous statements calling for the execution of Trump supporters
2. He was off Twitter during the exact time it happened (online directly before and after)
3. Randomly tweeted "Nature is healing" right after it happened with a captain america mask and a flushed face (like he had just showered or done something strenuous
4. Same height and build as the suspect
5. Identical bike seen in background of other photos he took in his house
6. Drive out to his MiL's lakefront cabin that same weekend (to dispose of evidence according to believers)
7. Years prior reported a "burglary" in which no valuables were taken except his gun (and his joke book because the Nazis want to stop him from standup bombings)

I think there are a few others, but nothing approaching evidence that the police could use. I honestly don't think he did it, but if he did, it would explain his brazenness with the later false flags and other crimes he's committed against himself, including possibly swatting.

I'd say the tweet of a photo of Bernell Trammell posted shortly before he was murdered is the single biggest hint there may be a connection.

Also, the suspect has a back hunch and portly gait identical to Rick's.

It's all circumstantial, but it's a bona fide mountain of circumstantial evidence. My hope is that something relating to it ends up being given out in discovery, and he only gets arrested and charged for murder because he had the bright idea to sue the cops for doing their jobs.
