Inspired by post in the trans mega thread, this thread is to complain & cope with losing loved ones to transitioning, as well ask ask for advice on how to handle them. I'll share mine to get the thread started.


I shared my story before: my good friend decided to become they them after graduating college. Said they were thinking about it the whole time they were going...

I was about to suggest the same thread. You may find it useful to read similar things others have experienced. However, I'm sad to say your friend has gone.

I've had friends go through bad relationships, fall into addictions, all sorts of bad situations. In most other cases, I would advise to hang on in there – be supportive of your buddy. Try to lead your friend onto a better course. Or just be there as a friend when needed. You don't have to condone the bad behaviour.
After all, that's what friends are for.

It's different with troonery. The only good advice you can give your friend is YWNBAW/YWNBAM.
When you tell them this, you will be cut off. Friendship over. But you mustn't lie to your friends.

It's not like telling a mate that you're still unsure about his new girlfriend (which can be a tricky conversation).
The moment you tell a friend that they can't possibly be trans, they have been conditioned to believe that you are a genocidal bigot. You will be hated, but the only good course of action is to be truthful.

Thank God that this is just your friend we're talking about. Many people face this situation with their own children...
