One of the races to monitor in 2026 is Michigan's 10th.
The seat is currently held by Rep. John James (R)
Mr. James has shot his shot before at higher office (Senator) in 2018. He lost by seven points in a blue wave, which all things considered, isn't bad.
So he's been Michigan's 10th Rep since 2022. He won those elections by a small margin.
So now he's gonnna try for governor of Michigan. Good luck with that.
This seat is now open and while it leans R, dems do want to take it. It is certainly possible they could.
So we have a primary for the R side.
We have two candidates so far (others have expressed intent, but these are the most serious)
First up is
Macomb County Assistant Prosecutor Robert Lulgjuraj.
Second up is
Army Captain Mike Bouchard
Mike is the son of Oakland County sheriff Mike Bouchard whose fairly popular.
Looking at both their issues and stuff it's pretty cookie cutter "we support Trump America first blah blah" so its whatever. Wish they could both say something about housing and the Jeet menace, but...
They're both normal white dudes, so that's already a plus.
One thing I noticed, Oakland County isn't in the 10th district. So Bouchard is essentially running in what isn't his home (there's a word for that but I forgot) and Bouchard also likes to mention his service a lot which is fucking annoying.
These are your two primary Rs gunning for the seat.
Primaries tend to get ugly sometimes. But it's important to support whoever wins (none of these guys are Vivek).
I'll be making posts talking about each of the important house races the next few days.
