A federal agent shot and killed a Minneapolis motorist when she allegedly tried to run over law enforcement officers during an immigration crackdown in the city, authorities said Wednesday.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer shot the woman in her vehicle in a residential neighborhood in Minneapolis, Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.

Video posted online showed the vehicle crashed in a residential neighborhood. The shooting drew throngs of angry protesters to the scene in an area that is the latest target of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.

Follow live coverage of the shooting from MPR News in Minneapolis.

There was a large presence of federal and local officers, yellow police tape and cars that had been in a crash in the residential neighborhood. Gregory Bovino, a senior U.S. Customs and Border Patrol official who has been the face of crackdowns in Los Angeles, Chicago and elsewhere, was among the group.

“We are aware of a shooting involving federal law enforcement near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue. Please avoid this area,” the city government said on X.

In a scene similar to the Los Angeles and Chicago crackdowns, bystanders didn't hold back in venting their anger, blowing whistles, taunting the federal agents.

“Shame! Shame! Shame!” and “ICE out of Minnesota!” they loudly chanted from behind the police tape, referring to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

After the shooting, Mayor Jacob Frey said immigration agents were “causing chaos in our city.”

“We are demanding ICE leave the city and state immediately. We stand rock solid with our immigrant and refugee communities," Frey said on social media.

The area where the shooting occurred is a modest neighborhood south of downtown Minneapolis, just a few blocks from some of the oldest immigrant markets in the area and a mile from where George Floyd was killed by police in 2020.

“We’ve been trying to live life as fully as possible in light of the fear and anxiety that we feel,” said the Rev. Hierald Osorto, pastor at St. Paul’s-San Pablo Lutheran Church, which has a predominantly Latino congregation in the area.

The Immigration Defense Network, a coalition of groups serving immigrants in Minnesota, held a training session Tuesday night for about 100 people who are willing to hit the streets to monitor the federal enforcement.

“I feel like I'm an ordinary person, and I have the ability do something so I need to do it,” Mary Moran told KMSP-TV.

The Department of Homeland Security said Tuesday that it had launched an extraordinary immigration enforcement operation, with 2,000 agents and officers expected in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area for a crackdown tied in part to allegations of fraud involving Somali residents.

Mercado is just straight up showing ICE documents with information regarding locations/tactics/post-arrest procedures. Really hoping the FBI reams him for this, he is also a veteran so it may be a good way to loose all benefits.

Yeah I just happened to tune in and saw them looking at stuff in two trashed vehicles. He made a big show of not touching anything.

I really wish ICE would just show up and cut loose on everyone there.

I guess protesters broke into and looted an FBI car of documents, ammo, challenge coins, and other shit. Media was taking pictures too

I looked her in the eyes, and I said, ‘Quit your job,’” she said.

“I was trying to talk to any agent I could and say, ‘Remember your oath. … You're meant to protect us,’” Frederick said.
I literally made this joke:
CLEARLY he should have just used his government-issue grappling hook to get out of there and appeal to her sense of justice, looking longingly into her eyes and crying while mouthing he doesn't want to be evil.

Just like my marvels!
Truly life imitates fiction.

City officials give details on shooting as Frey says current situation in Minneapolis is 'not sustainable'

Minneapolis officials confirmed details of the shooting. One person was shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Police Chief Brian O’Hara said. No children were involved in the shooting, to the chief’s knowledge.

O'Hara gave many similar details that the Department of Homeland Security provided earlier on social media, adding that federal agents “made entry” into the home where the man who was shot had entered, and he was taken to the hospital.

Frey said his office is in touch with the governor’s office about the situation.

"This is not sustainable,” Frey said. “Our officers, they are working tirelessly. We need officers responding to the basic day-to-day 911 calls.”

Law enforcement left the scene of the shooting and the surrounding area at about 10:30 p.m. But still, a couple hundred people lingered as of 11 p.m. while a helicopter flew above.

A number of people were seen breaking into, defacing and ransacking at least three vehicles parked near the shooting scene.

Crowd members said they were government-owned and belonged to federal agents.

The dumb bitch was showing off all sorts of documents and challenge coins she admitted to taking out of the car. Showing her fingerprints, backs of her hands (don't show veins on camera!), and distinct fingernail polish pattern and recognizeable clothing. These people are very, very dumb. I'm not going to post any of the paperwork, but at some point, I saw some fed's ID badge. Here's a couple of pics of the challenge coins:

btw, those gloved hands are someone else, not the Mercado guy.

What a bunch of dipshits. Why the fuck would you reveal that shit on the spot while using your undisguised voice and talking into a mic with your orgs name clearly visible on it ?

reminiscent of the j6 protestors proudly taking photos inside whatever government building they stormed that time. just people finding themselves in a possession of something they weren't expecting and not really thinking about what they're doing.

I downloaded the full Mercado Media stream before he privated it. I'll upload it and post a link later in the thread when it gets done. ARCHIVE EVERYTHING!

Trudeau might have been onto something. "When you kill your enemy, they win." Leftists took it seriously and are sextupling down and going for a high score.

The shooting in the legs stuff might lead to some funny banter. I think it was Ilhan Omar that recently suggested ICE agents are poorly trained which is why they have to shoot to kill. Now that a few people have taken one in the leg, they're gonna demand the officers be fired and prosecuted for malicious wounding. They didn't shoot to kill so clearly they didn't feel their lives were in danger, therefor the shooting was criminal. Wait for it. It's coming.
They should've shot the shovel out of his hand or maybe tasered his shoes.

Yeah, that horrific video of the wife screaming "why did you have real bullets??" backs this up: Renee and Rebecca thought it was a game (because they were taught by their "trainers" that it was a game, apparently). But that doesn't explain why these people are STILL deliberately antagonising ICE agents. They've all watched one of their peers getting shot in the face for behaving like this and they're still doing it. It's suicidal at this point.

Yes, it does look like it's just Oppositional Defiance Disorder as a political identity at this point. Still crazy that they're prepared to lose their lives to own the chuds though.

I was going to say opositional defiance as well. Ive worked with kids with it. Its the damdest thing. These lunatics are so much like OD kids all grown up and not matured at all. They have glommed on to professional temper tantrum throwing as a career choice. Many are getting paid. Renee and Rebecca were living off donations, money from her mom and her poor childs SS money from his fathers death.

The vid I saw is already scrubbed from YT as well as the reddit posts documenting it, Mercado also got banned off twitch apparently.

How dumb can you be.

I'm gonna be real man, I'm exhausted. Whatever goodwill I had for these faggots has evaporated completely. As I've said before, the Good shooting was, in my opinion "lawful but awful." It was just a shitty situation and a tragedy. In this instance, all three of them should've been ventilated, and these faggots are looting fed cars and causing problems while the faggot mayor and governor encourage it.

This, in my opinion, this is when to send in the military. I have shit on Trump every other time he's sent the military in to cities this term, I have been a vocal critic of using the military domestically, but, and I seriously believe this, order has broken down so horrifically, and local government has failed so spectacularly, that we need more. It's time to bring the hammer out of the toolbox.

Yeah just deploy them at this point, leftoids won't stop being retards.
