Why do feminists feel the need to lie to themselves and others? Why do they need to literally invent enemies to get mad about and insist they exist to strangers on the internt? I searched r/askmen for posts about how dating is hard these days and I found nobody demanding women be their sex slaves. At worst they were kind of bitter and cranky, but I found nothing of the sort. For context, this was the OP:

Calling out their dating app and social media induced delusions and toxic culture is an affront to their religion.

Nice job Mattel for creating a Barbie that presents a specific aesthetic and nothing else.

Autistic girls will line up to buy a tablet that makes noises, noise cancelling headphones and a fidget spinner just to be exactly like Barbie.

And yet Mattel won't do anything to help out those affected by their Barbie products and their unrealistic beauty standards.

Lolwut? "There's no engagement with power, exclusion, or harm." It's a Barbie doll of all things, I don't know how exactly she expects abstract, intangible aspects like that to be part of the doll. And beyond that, is this really the time or the place? Presumably, they intended this to be something to normalize autism or something (well, first and foremost it was a virtue signal, but outwardly I think it's fair to say they wanted to be perceived as normalizing autism.) Emphasizing how different and ostracized it can make you feel is just going to have the opposite effect- making autism look like something weird and scary.

And we can't forget that it's just a damn toy, too. There's a reason why G.I. Joe's don't have a "shell shock and ptsd" play set, or why baby dolls don't include a booklet about post-partum depression. Kids want to have fun, not be lectured about power or trauma or intersectionality or whatever. There's a level of escapism to toys because we don't want to have to burden kids with that kind of shit when they're still trying to enjoy their childhood, and they might not even be mature enough to grasp heavier concepts in their totality, either, which would just waste all the ""education"" these people are trying to do. Besides, do we really want a realistic-depiction-of-autism barbie? Autistic females tend to be some of the most repulsive women out there.
