Fallout fandom consoomerism is really getting out of hand. Rather than discussions about the games, the bigger subreddits are full of pictures of soda and dogshit merch like this AI abomination (Reddit thread):

Hehehe yeah that's what I mean -- most of the time if a park guest is doing something that chases other guests out of the gift shops, the righteous fury of the Mouse slams down like lightning. Universal's the same way. It's one thing to just browse, be dumb for a minute then leave, but (even unintentionally) chasing out potential paying customers is baaaaaad mojo.

I find some irony in Fallout Consoomers given these types of fans are ones to extrapolate that "Capitalism Bad" was the message of Fallout rather than the inevitably of conflict to arise in man.

I have a personal vendetta against subscription-based water bottle flavorer cartridges. Only can be used in their special water bottle. Is "mailed straight to your door!!!!" really still a selling point in the age of grocery delivery and amazon? My family buys them because "they will help you lose weight." The water in the bottle stays clear, it's flavored by going through the proprietary flavor cartridge. They think this is healthier than other ways to flavor water because they still see just normal water rather than seeing, like, how crystal light and other 0 cal things typically have a bit of food dye. I don't know. All I know is a subscription service water bottle drives me insane.

Super late reply, but I'm still catching up on the thread. You can get an 8pack of flavored sparkling water for $3 and some change at just about any grocery store. Don't like sparkling water? Open the can and leave it to flatten. The cans and carton they come in are recyclable. Hell, my Target puts Cirkul in the same aisle as the canned water.

From what I've seen the "adult happy meal" is basically mcdonald's version of the old BK "big kids meal" where it;s like a slightly more expensive version of the normal happy meal but like instead of it coming with something cool like a lord of the rings glass with an LED or whatever it's just ever so slightly near what happy meal toy quality used to be... And now it's just shit like grinch socks or FRIENDS knockoff funko pops. I still remember the first "adult happy meal" thing they did was those little static artist brand figures of the 4 eyed mcdonalds guys.

The only thing that's notable for me I'd hunt down maybe is the grimace egg solely because there's a weird grimace egg cup toy mcdonalds had decades ago at some point apparently. So it's like a prophecy or some shit you put the grimace minecraft egg in a spot it belongs and unlock the gates to grimace agartha island.

I CAN however find scalpers trying to sell the egg cup at nightmare prices nobody will pay.

I already rambled a few times about how we went from lego sets in happy meals to lego set themed statues and how you can kind of mark the trajectory downward of Happy meal toy quality via the slow decline of both the lack of actual lego and then the lack of decent action features.

I love goyslop funky pops based on my favorite tv show!!! Nothing gets me more excited then promotional garbage that I can consoom!!!

The fuck, Friends? That should be classed as grave robbing. Seems a very odd choice to me for some reason. Not to mention that it pretty much only targets one demographic, True&Honest 90's kids. Friends is such a product of its time, i used to watch it regularly when it originally aired here and i neither could tell you why i did nor can i recall the plot of a single episode.

It was just mindrot, there to decompress and switch off after school/work. We have phones to fill that void now. Didn’t it get a resurgence a few years ago when it was added to Netflix? But I agree, it’s an odd choice for current year.

Yeah, sounds correct. Man, pre always-online times were dire in its own right, you couldn't force me to watch an episode of Friends even with a gun to my head these days. Didn't know it was put on Netflix and had a resurgence, it makes more sense now to me why McDonalds went with this particular show.

Yeah, when it resurfaced I think it made people nostalgic for a time that never really existed. Friends merch was cluttering the shelves of dollar stores for a while, but even that was a few years ago.
