I forgot how fond the British are of men dressed as women and vice versa. But it used to be as comedy (men dressed as women do indeed make Cinderella's ugly sisters, ugly). And at least in Peter Pan's case, a woman is probably the right height for portraying an adolescent boy, and without all those pesky safety concerns for harnessing up a child in a theatre flying apparatus.That said, if you’re aware of the cross-dressing jamboree that is the British panto, maybe it’s not so weird to imagine Peter Pan as a teeny-tiny woman.
I'm surprised a tranny hasn't taken up a cause against pantos that have cross-dressing. Maybe it's too niche an issue but "our gender is not your costume".
