WASHINGTON, Jan 3 (Reuters) - The U.S. has struck Venezuela and captured its President Nicolas Maduro, who has been taken out of the country, President Donald Trump said on Saturday.

The U.S. has not made such a direct intervention in Latin America since the invasion of Panama in 1989 to depose military leader Manuel Noriega.

"The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the country," Trump said in a Truth Social post.

There was no immediate confirmation from the Venezuelan government.

The U.S. has accused Maduro of running a "narco-state" and rigging an election. The Venezuelan leader, who succeeded Hugo Chavez to take power in 2013, has said Washington wants to take control of its oil reserves, the largest in the world.

Can we now please invade another hostile foreign nation and abduct and prosecute it's communist leader too, to save the people there as well?

Why yes I am talking about New York City.

It could be interesting to know who Delcy Rodriguez will name as her VP.
Yo.

Now think about it. I'm not that far from Venezuela, I speak a little high school spanish, I got a real sweetheart of a Venezuelan neighbor, love her to pieces and the most important part, I'll shitpost back to all of you guys about what's going on down there. Trump thinks he's sharp because he shitposts on Twitter? Make me the first international KiwiFarms national assembly member.

Mexico has gained a lot of cartel power because they are the closest to the US. If the drug flow stops comming up from SA then they lose that power naturally.

Granted this is a hard job to accomplish and wont be finished by Trump. We need to stabalize SA AND make life better for people at home so they stop taking so many drugs. I think it can be done but it will take a lot of surgical moves that frankly the US government is not setup to make. The second we get another dem president or a weak republican, the same bullshit for the last 60 years will continue.

Edit: this is desperately needed btw. The cartels have FULLY compromised local and state LE in CA, NM, and AZ. If we don't do something now our entire nation will fall to cartel violence.
I am not convinced that what happened in Venezuela will have any meaningful effect on Mexico's drug trafficking, but I agree entirely otherwise. Arizona has turned into cartelville but everyone ignores it just because they are all brown and they know a "based" 90% Spaniard Hispanic. That being said, the fact they didn't go after the much more obvious target right by our own home tells me that the feds don't plan on doing anything about it. Mexico has been smart enough not to nationalize American funded industries, so they will probably be left alone.

But.....we aren't a member since if we were every country would go after us for basically everything we do regardless of President
Yeah every single one of these international cabals is designed to fuck over the United States and destroy the West more generally. They are there for the benefit of the shittiest, most corrupt shitholes on the planet. Example: A Somalian Medicaid scammer being given leadership of the UN.

Coming in late here, heard about it when I got up.

First thought - the US had a lot of inside help. Got a lot of people in the Venezuelan military and government tired of what's happening to their country.

Ya, expect Machado to come in and assume her rightfully elected office. She's got her work cut out for her, after all the time under socialism. Country needs a lot of help, but oil revenues will assist in paying for that help.

And don't forget we did the same thing to Noriega in Panama over thirty years ago. Got the same comments then as we're seeing now, big fucking deal. He was incarcerated in the USA, then France, then Panama until his death. Expect the same for Maduro and his wife.

If you are doing something Mamdani doesn't like, you're doing the right thing. Fuck this Communist son-of-a-bitch.

Here's the thing. We're just gonna take the oil. All of it.
Sorry, but we're just taking it. It's ours now.
It was ours and the euros as the Venezuelans were never the ones to find the oil, drill for the oil and build the infrastructure to move the oil. It only "became" their's after Chavez nationalized everything without permission from the White House.*

*Every member of OPEC and other oil nations became oil rich after nationalizing American and European oil properties with permission from various U.S. presidents throughout the 20th Century.

Reuters put out this video showing the reactions of Venezuelans to American actions in the country:

B-b-but my hag of a teacher in tenth grade told me imperialism was bad!
According to the ICJ, no. In the Arrest Warrant of 11 April 2000 case, it was ruled that sitting leaders have diplomatic immunity and cannot be charged in a foreign country's court based on foreign laws.
The US doesn’t recognize the ICJ at all.

To add to this, cartels don't have the idolatry that Islamists have. It's about business to them. If they can find a way to hide and/or integrate into the new power base and still make money, they're fine with that. Or just go to another country that let's them deal and hide there.

It's not like they're zealots the way the Muslims are.
When things look unwinnable? One side prays to Allah and puts on a suicide vest.

The other gets out a checkbook.

Guess which one I can live with in a "stay on your side of the street and I won't see a thing" kind of way?

We are very much aligned with US so for our part, as you can see, no collaborators will be given asylum. But this could also mean, any brocialist who showed support may also end up getting prosecuted.

America's clearly on a roll, why stop at Venezula? Trump, quick, seize Greenland while the Danish are distracted.

I saw a bunch of antifa and leftist accounts express solidarity with Maduro. Those same people started spreg fights with other leftiods who took issue with the Maduro glazing.

Meanwhile a rightoid like me, is not surprised that lefties love authoritarianism and dictatorships as long as it's theirs.

Your hag of teacher didn't tell you then communism is also another form of imperialism in disguise.

Btw, Danny Glover and Sean Penn might buy lots of tissues to wipe out their watery eyes now then Maduro is out.

US law trumps the ICJ, the UN and national sovereignty. This is the kind of power the cucks in the UK wish they had.
