This is the single worst gameplay stream Rimworld has ever had I hope the devs somehow see it :story:
Shouldn't take long, the developer isn't his biggest fan

Forget it, Kulee. It's YouTube.
It’s fine, and I know full well that Phil is in his own personal hell I wouldn’t want to trade places with him. It’s just that one Frank Grimes quote stuck out to me.

“I don’t need to do my work because someone else will do it for me!”

He expects top money to play video games, he can’t be bothered to prepare for the game by watching a YouTuber go over shit. He can’t even have any childlike curiosity to mess with stuff to see what happens. He literally said it himself in the video he needed that Kick chat to walk him thru everything.

I still don’t think I’d get into Rimworld and there’s no point for me to immediately try it now because Factorio is going to eat up my free time. But I get what you’re supposed to do, play with it. But Phil wants everything to be like Call of Duty he just wants constant asspats,

That dev seems very deep in the lore. Is he a solo dev? Any chance there's some kind of hidden DSP reference in the game, because Phil coming across that on stream would be pure gold dust.

Rhopunzel is one of the artists. Based on his Twitter and Reddit, Rho was aware of DSP and lolcows in general. But he was sucked into the Snortex after DSP insulted the game's graphics back in June. And is now a full on detractor and KC viewer.

Phil just has that effect on people.

I skimmed the Rimworld stream because I adore the game, and got transfixed. Just like the first time I saw DSP. It will never fail to amaze me to see how little he can say while wasting so much time. He took nearly a half hour to rant about detractors and immediately turned clown mode with the money buff. Somehow managed to barely get past the tutorial while being handheld the whole way. None of it surprises me in the least, but I rarely look at the streams and it reminded me why I find him so fascinating yet mind-numbingly boring.

I'm filled with hope for Rimworld now, at first I assumed he'd drop it in 30 minutes. After a night of rohbust support like that, he will go back to it for the cash. The longer it goes, the more potential there is for sanity spirals and disasters that can't be quick-loaded away because it's a failure in long term planning. He's playing an easy difficulty so there's a chance it goes for a while, but the longer he keeps playing, the funnier the meltdown will get. I can feel it in me bones.

Not really, as he's playing on easy nothing special will happen to his colony.

I guess the worst that could happen is his colonists passing away from old age and him not recruiting other people cause there won't be enough raiders coming in to convert.

Rimworld on easy is just a base building game and with the dents hand holding him like they did yesterday I doubt he'll do something risky.

If you look at his base he really did build little outside what the tutorial told him.
So I guess it'll be like Minecraft, he'll stay on the rails the dent set out for him.

Damnit you bastards are gonna make me get Rimworld so I can anticipate Phil’s fuck ups. 😂

I wonder will Phil cry if one of the pets dies? RIP Porkchop.

Oh no doubt. He'll be handheld and play as safe as possible, but I'm rooting for the wealth factor to kick in. It's a very easy mistake to make if you're not aware of the system. For those that don't know, Rimworld calculates the danger level of raids by the total resources you have stored in your base. More wealth = bigger badder enemies. Even on low difficulty, if his wealth is jacked up beyond his defenses he can get caught by a mech ship or drop pod raid. Sanity spirals are less likely, but with how little attention he pays to things I wouldn't be surprised if he gets got by that either.

On the other hand, if a dent handholds him all the way through getting a ship and getting off world, that's bizarre in it's own right. If at any point support drops, it's going in the trash, so the only way he's going to do it is if said dent sits there and finances the whole damn playthrough.

You can make kill-boxes / 2-tile wide corridors with traps that make raider attacks trivial.

I love Rimworld, but it’s one of the worst picks for Dave because of the way these streams work, it’s like watching someone with Down’s syndrome put a piece of furniture together, while a panel of people shout instructions at him.

It really is amazing how shamelessly reliant he's become on handholding. I'm not sure handholding is even the right term anymore - it was one thing when he allowed viewers to just give him the solution to a puzzle, or tell him where to go, only when he was stumped himself, but now he just straight-up openly tells everyone he expects people to attend his streams like it's their job, and walk him through games moment-by-moment. He even gets upset when peepul aren't there to do it on one stream after doing it in another, like they wronged him on some business transaction.

Does he have any concept of how much damage he's doing not only to the cahntent but to his fucking brain? There's been some moments in the last year where the reliance on handholding goes beyond games and into all kinds of everyday things. This fucker's perception of reality is getting so twisted by this livestreamer dynamic that he's going to be going live and demanding instructions on how to find his fat wife's clit sooner or later.

LOL. Like he cares about anyone else's pleasure! Especially a woman's!
