but yeah if anything the more I see mainstream(ish) political cartoons the more I realize how Ben Garrison is actually really ahead of a lot of them these days for skill in craft, horrifying as that is

Drudge was neocon supreme GOPe style. Once that went out of favor he mostly got out of running the site and it went pretty lousy. He was never any MAGA fan.

A lot of neocons desperately want to go back to the good old days when Republicans were controlled opposition who did nothing and lost on purpose in exchange for corporate kickbacks.

Drudge and Trump had a falling out in 2020. It was apparently originally over the United States-Mexico border wall (a project that faced setbacks from a lack of authorized congressional funding and hostile federal judges) but Drudge Report has moved into the realm of general Trump hate since then.

Matt Drudge and Ann Coulter were both 100% serious about a border wall and got upset when Trump didn't build one. Another factor with Drudge was all the people he used to rub elbows with started being assholes to him because of his association with Trump. Drudge got pissed that he was ostracized and decided to sell his website, which is why it now runs drivel.

you forget, the epstein files are now the big focus, and they absolutely do not want another foodstamp disaster. it DESTROYED democrats to do that last time, and if they do it again it will be an early demise for the democrat party. at the moment, they're gearing up to begin the campaign for 2026, they do NOT want to have a 'plan' that can be turned against them to rile up their constituents (read: angry niggers).

the democrats would be very very wise not to cause a stink about funding this year, unless they want to ruin what little momentum they gained during their expected wins in a couple of spots.
