A bit late, but you can thaw meat quite quickly by placing it under running water, specially if they're already portioned for individual consumption. I often forget to take frozen foods out of the fridge, and have them ready to cook in 5-10 minutes by placing them on the bottom of the (clean, steel) sink and letting a drizzle fall from the tap onto the ziploc bag. If it's not packed/wrapped, place the items in a colander and do the same. The most important part is to keep the water flowing; metal tools/surfaces help, but are not necessary.

But they're not using it to start a new scam business. That's the difference. Ghetto black culture in the US is all about conspicuous consumption, not collectively propping up the community. Gangs exist as pure parasites in the black community, rather than having the more complex and mutualistic relationships of the Italian Mafia (I grew up in a mob town and a lot of people sure missed 'em when they were gone).

The Somalians may be driving BMWs but they're using a lot of their excess to essentially invest seed capital into new criminal enterprises and expand their footprint. Now that the heat is on, the intelligent move is what the mob did: launder as much as possible through semi-legitimate cash business fronts (laundromats, restaurants, arcades, etc.), pay your taxes on the laundered funds like a good boy, and then attempt to go legit with the laundered funds because once you have a good amount of seed capital you can live on legitimate investments.

Whether any of them are smart enough for that remains to be seen. The only way this works out for Americans is if deportations and denaturalizations are swift and widespread. These people are far more collectivistic than any ethnic group in the US, including other African ethnic groups. They don't mind if some of them end up in jail and some of them get sent back, as long as some of them end up in political office and owning land and flashing US passports.
