Woman's rights at the end of this century will make 19th century saudi arabia or afghanistan seem like a feminist paradise.

Our global fertility rate is too fucking low, China, a atheist communist state which had several feminist marxist icons as its founders and constitutional and legal writers is starting to roll back on them, first by baning kdramas, feminizing men, lgbt propaganda being cut or banned, pornography banned, taxing condoms, etc.

They will as communist romania and the USSR post ww2 roll back on abortion, tax single persons more or outright publicly shame unmarried people over 30 as in north korea.
This will bleed over to the west, tradwives being pushed by algorithms is no coincidence for example.
I belive it will skyrocket by 2030-2040, when the millenials start reaching retirement age and realize there's a gigantic lack of young people to pay for their retirement or health costs.
People will have to choose to endorse a global pillow movement on aging people or ban abortions and birth control, and since there will be a lot more 40-60 year olds alive, the choice will be obvious.
Automation and robotics will somewhat soften the blow, but a robot doesn't pay into a 401k, or into a state retirement fund, his non existent income can't be taxed into a public health system, or he isn't forced to pay into a health insurance plan.
A robot might wipe a 90 year old boomer's ass in 20 years, but it won't help to pay for their retirement home.

I don't really have a preference so long as I have enough olive oil to cook with. Olive oil or butter is the way to go.

It's probably a skill issue and/or me being a retard, but when using regular butter on my carbon steel or cast iron skillet eggs will slide around like an oiled nonstick pan.

When using olive oil or clarified butter, they stick slightly and i have to treat it like stainless, i.e. the eggs will lift cleanly once they're done.

I've always wondered if the milk solids present in regular butter are the cause of this

So far one of the cystalizing future conflicts for the US is Youths vs Luxury Boomer Communism, and considering the direction US demographics are trending, the Day of the Pillow draws ever closer.

If boomers had an inkling of this, they'd push for a 1921-esque immigration ban and mass remigrations to allow Millenials and Zoomers to have some skin in the game. But of course they won't do it, cause the Woodstock generation will party to the end.

I don’t think so. What is worth the cost is copper cookware, but requires maintenance. Stainless steel is fine so long as the bottom has an aluminum disk. Enameled cookware is also great.

What is IMO way more valuable is upgrading to a professional range.

You're missing my point. It's not the quality of how good they do in battle, if they want to volunteer to fight they should be able to because we need all the manpower we can get.

the smoke point is only an issue if you fry at really high heat, at lower to medium temps it's not a problem

i'd still recommend against olive oil because it has a very strong flavor that doesn't go well with everything. better to stick to neutral oils like sunflower seed.

There are different types of olive oil which is apparently too hard for people to understand. Pure light olive oil is completely fine for cooking and has a smoke point of 400°+. It also has hardly any flavor.

I think part of the reason is that the cost of entry is actually really high. To cook from scratch you need the equipment (knife, chopping board, frying pan, pot, colander etc) AND you need a stock cupboard of basics for most recipes (salt, pepper, olive oil, stock cubes, tons of weird herbs and spices that you've never heard of that seem to be in even the most basic recipes).
If you've grown up in a home without a parent that cooks regularly, and you're on a tight budget, it unfortunately does make more sense to buy fast food that you know you'll like rather than spend money on ingredients you might well fuck up due to lack of skill.

You can buy a ceramic coated pan, a set of knives, a cutting board, and a wooden spoon at the home goods store for less than thirty dollars. Then all you need is salt, pepper, eggs, breakfast sausage, and butter for your first meal. Throw in some fruit or fresh tomato if you're feeling fancy.
