Trying not to be racist ,but ... African style deodorant? ;)
Is this a British thing?
It is a British thing (although I think it's the same as Axe in the US) but I have no idea why it's called Africa. All the Lynx scents have weird names like Atlantis and Java; I guess it made sense to someone in the 90s when they were actually hugely popular.

It was implied to keep you dry like the Sahara desert in 90s adverts.

I can’t remember exactly but it might have been that most lynx/Axe flavors were just body spray deodorant rather than anti perspirant and Africa was the first to actually be so.

But all I wanted was a "you're right, that was wrong, I'll call them out on it". And nope. I'm feeling sad because I really wanted to spend the holidays with my family and have fun, but I cant do that if they're seeing a 5'4, long haired with pink ends, full makeup done, (I think) B-cup breasted woman, and call her "my boy" or "deadname".
Now, what can I even do? I don't want to put anyone in a difficult position, but if they keep misgendering me constantly, I might have to stop showing up at family meetings altogether. Which I don't want to do either since it'd break my mom's heart. Family is everything to her, and I can't afford to lose her or her support, even when I'm living very far away now.
You know, if you're old enough to move to the big city, you really shouldn't need mommy to prove she loves you more than people she's known her whole life by - rather than encouraging you to grow up and maybe show a little maturity - speaking the precise words you have scripted for her to own and tsk-tsk the old ladies.

I can't imagine any woman leaving behind her child with a troon
A woman I know abandoned both her kids with her troon husband, who promptly announced that his daughter is trans like him and posted pics on social media of taking her to a clinic for puberty blockers. I hate clown world so much.

A woman I know went into non-binary nonsense and abandoned her daughters with he father who was very likely molesting them. The daughters became FTM and soon after that the father himself trooned out.

I'm just going to assume that this person is a childless scammer using being a "disabled trans parent" as an angle to e-beg more effectively, because that makes me less MATI.
It's probably a FtM "seahorse dad." Her e-begging is very, very familiar to anyone who follows local social media, especially "buy nothing" groups--more than a pooner, she reads exactly like any other low-class grifter, female-type, baby-having division.

I do too. Never understood why it was hated. More for me.
Legit theory:

I think that fruitcakes used to be sent through the (then-even-slower-than-now) mail, so they tended to arrive in less-than-new condition, and so they acquired an undeserved reputation.

The good fruitcakes are made six months in advance, and are fed a steady diet of good rum the entire time.

If a fancy rum brand teamed up with a decent bakery to make authentic olde style fruitcakes, preorder in June, it would retvrn them to their traditional place in the dessert pantheon in a few years.

Carbs tho, but it's not fruitcake's fault for being what it is

I hate how fast and quick my emotions are. I was having the start of a pretty good time period of my life, but boom i started to doom scroll see tons of transphobia and get sick. It just made me upset no matter what i did i couldnt stop. My brains going negative agin. I really shouldnt and try and recreate what made me happy in the first place, it doesn't involve addictions, but in short I pulled an all-nighter then got this weird feeling and started feeling more heavly. Like I even came to terms with the past. I wish to feel that again, but i cant...... I cant chase that high and ive fallen down. I hate how one moment I could be living my best life then one things makes my life hellish again. LIke damm I wish to feel better. Like Im just getting done being sick. As well these short days have me feeling horrible, like I shouldn't be doing anything cause the suns down but somehow its 5pm. God dammit everytime i feel better i just go back to feeling depressed and angry and mad and tired.

Maybe it's like being a girl in an American high school, where your male classmates disrupt the lesson by making sex noises at the teacher.
Actually I'm pretty sure it's absolutely nothing like that whatsoever and you bringing that up completely undermines your entire post. 14 year olds moaning in class as a joke is not even remotely similar to roaming rape gangs being a common sight and the threat of being gangraped and murdered actually being a real possibility for daring to leave the house.

India and indians are worse than every other country or group you mentioned on a basic, fundamental, cultural level. Objectively and demonstrably so.

Ffs raping your wife isn't even a crime there. There's open and widespread national pushback against making raping your wife a crime. 24% of women in India are sexually abused by their own husbands.

You can whatabout over Whitey in Da South, Nogs in the hood or Nip train gropers but at least rape and abuse is still considered, y'know... illegal there. Meanwhile in india it's the official national pastime right next to shitting on the ground and scamming people. It's so common and widespread that it's unironically seen as normal.

Trying to compare the two comes off as either brown apologia or insanely misguided bra-burning.

Iirc they were a common victim of regifting, so the holidays were full of people trying to dump old shitty fruitcakes on you. Then it became a pop culture thing thanks to plenty of jokes in media and took off from there. Rest is history.

It's worse in South Africa, but not by much.

Y'know, it's just stuff that happens:

When your wife arrives home two hours late, and you ask:

"Honey, did you miss the bus?"
"No, I got gang-raped."
"Oh, that sucks. Dinner's on the stove, babe."

Marital rape has been illegal in all 50 states of the US since 1993, though there have been and in some places still exist loopholes that haven't been closed - and if closed were only closed in the last few years. And in some states the crime is still a lesser crime than non-marital rape, or the standard of proof is higher/ requiring a showing of greater force.

Not totally up to date, but illustrative:
Marital rape is illegal in all fifty states. In most states, marital and non-marital rape are treated equally. However, a number of states have established exceptions that treat marital rape differently than non-marital rape.

For example, until 2019, Minnesota protected rapists who still lived with and had sexual relations with a spouse. That year, Governor Tim Walz signed a bill that put an end to this marital rape exception. Similarly, California and Idaho repealed their provisions for marital rape in 2021.
Other examples:

Connecticut

Connecticut has some of the same loopholes that other marital rape states have. This state classifies this crime as a Class B instead of a Class A felony. Persons charged may result in a lesser sentence than someone who is not married to a victim. This state currently makes no provision for cases where a person is drugged. It focuses primarily on cases where overpowering force is used.

Maryland

Maryland’s HB0153 to repeal the spousal defense from rape moved through the state House and Senate in 2022. The state hopes to join the others who have recently repealed similar exemptions.

Michigan

This state mostly focuses on marital rape that occurs against a person who is incapacitated. It addresses issues in which a person has violated a spouse that may have been under the influence of drugs. Violating a spouse while that person still feels the effects of an anesthetic also constitutes rape in Michigan. As of 2019, House Bill 4942 included a repeal against making it legal to have sex with an incapacitated spouse.

Nevada

Laws in this marital rape state require that force or threats must take place. If the sexual activity does not involve force, this state doesn’t consider it rape.

Ohio

This state makes provisions for cases in which a rape involves drugging. It also takes cases based on either actual force or threat of force. Marital rape cases, however, only take the same precedence as non-marital ones if the two people don’t live together.

Oklahoma

An overpowering force or violence seems to remain the main premise of Oklahoma rape. Some confusion lies within laws that define rape as non-consensual intercourse with a person who is not a spouse.

Rhode Island

Legislation in this state specifically points to the victim not being a spouse. Apparently, one person married to another can still violate a drugged person.

South Carolina

This state treats marital rape as a “lesser crime” than non-spousal rape. Perpetrators might face 10 fewer years if married to their partner than if not married to that person
.

Virginia

Perpetrators apparently have the chance to receive counseling. If they do, participating in therapy sessions acts as a replacement for punishments. This reportedly puts victims in danger.

From an article in 2024;
California Governor Gavin Newsom in 2021 signed a bill into law that largely closed the state's loophole, though critics noted the text still carved out one exception.

"This bill would repeal the provisions relating to spousal rape and make conforming changes, thereby making an act of sexual intercourse accomplished with a spouse punishable as rape if the act otherwise meets the definition of rape, except that sexual intercourse with a person who is incapable of giving legal consent because of mental disorder or developmental or physical disability would not be rape if the two people are married," the bill reads.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2023 similarly signed into law a bill that ended the loophole. However, it left two exemptions, preventing a person from being charged with criminal sexual conduct because their spouse is younger than 16 or has a mental illness, according to The Detroit News.

Michigan Representative Laurie Pohutsky, who introduced the first bill, told the publication at the time there was pending legislation on the former exemption, and that the later needed to be redefined.

Idaho does not allow individuals to be convicted of rape against their spouse unless the victim resists but is overcome by force or violence; is prevented from resistance by the infliction of bodily harm or a reasonable belief that resistance would be utile; or engages in sexual intercourse under the belief their spouse would cause physical harm or damages in the future if they do not.

Several other states, such as Mississippi, Nevada and Oklahoma have similar statutes requiring a use of force. South Carolina mandates the use of aggravated force or a weapon for charges, and the victim must report the crime within 30 days.

In Virginia, a spouse may avoid criminal charges if they complete counseling or therapy.

Some states have ended these loopholes in recent years. In Rhode Island, Governor Dan McKee signed a bill repealing some exemptions in July 2021. Meanwhile, Maryland's loophole ended in 2023.

Tl; dr: yes, no criminality is objectively and absolutely worse, but let's not pretend that certain types of rape are not considered an entitlement or a mitigating circumstance, even in the USA.

Unfortunately true, though I do wonder how many of these were basically loopholes in name only where if someone actually tried to use invoke them in court the Judge would just laugh in their face.

There are plenty of nonsensical obsolete pieces of legislation that have been gathering dust for decades (if not longer) that people just never bother to close because they never come up in normal lawfare. If these loopholes and softballs really were in actual use though, shame on the judges and representatives that left this shit on the books for as long as they did. That's unacceptable.

Hell, at least there are actual efforts to clean up those last vestiges of exploitation from the nooks and crannies of our bloated legal system, in India every time women try to petition the government to outlaw rape the government unironically goes "no way, that's the best part of marriage!" to their faces and tells them to suck it up.

I hate when I bring up The Jeet Question and people gaslight me with "white men rape too!" or when retards go on rants about "how women deserve it". I was just trying to make a joke about how even Indian women hate Indian men. Rape exists everywhere, but Indians are raping monitor lizards and Pakistanis (still jeets imo) make up the majority of UK gang rapists raping little girls. There's also a huge gender ratio difference in India where men outnumber women.

Dang, just like Algeria, Botswana, Nigeria, Jamaica, Afghanistan, Bangladesh (Palestine and North Korea, too, but those are freebies for insane laws).
I'm not saying Indian culture isn't patriarchal. It very clearly is. I'm saying that male sexual violence against women and girls exists everywhere. Some cultures and countries are clearly worse (hi, Islam!), but no cultures or countries are completely free of it, yet.
Now, to bring this back on-topic (hi, jannies!): Male sexual predation is something that exists in basically all countries and cultures, but transgenderism is not. If "pooning out" was an effective way to escape male sexual predation, we might expect to see it occur more in regions like India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and South Africa, but instead that's not really what we see. Who are the women posting their Ls in this thread? A lot of white American Redditors, not many women from Rajasthan. It's true that some women do try to use transgenderism to escape male sexual predation, but it doesn't really work.

I feel like it could work only if they actually pass. Like I don't imagine Indians are DMing FTMs that look like Buck Angel asking to see bobs n vagene. They wouldn't even realize the pooner is a woman if the pooner passes.
