The morality of these people is completely ass-backwards; they will compare the act of training a model to rape, but then send rape threats flagrantly. What goes on in these people's heads? Even if you're against AI, how do you even reach this conclusion?
Yeah. I use AI. If that makes me racist then call me John C. Calhoun. I don't give a shit.
My theory on the AI bubble bursting is that it won't happen until the end of 2028. Why? Because Trump is in office and providing an excellent low-regulation environment, meaning almost zero federal AI regulation outside of a pornographic deepfakes bill, he's attempted to squash state AI laws (success to be determined), and he's allowing through big mergers and acquisitions.
A President Vance succeeding President Trump could continue the gravy train. A Democratic President would be highly likely to end the good times for Big Tech. But either way, this is a critical window in which the industry can get a lot done with a guarantee of less red tape. So even if it's destined to crash and burn, it could take another 3 years.

Ignoring how colossally dumb this decision is, they based it off a quote from a (Google Translated) interview from literal months ago that happened to go viral on Twitter this week in the wake of the Larian Studios backlash. And it was already known that there were AI placeholder assets in the game because people on social media spotted them shortly after the game released, and Sandfall patched them out.Anyways, this dumb award show stripped Clair Obscur of its wins of course lmao.

The devs stated they, like Larian, used AI for placeholder images. As far as I am aware, that was all it was used for.
Even if it wasn't this is beyond, BEYOND retarded for an indie developer award show. Indie devs literally have the most to gain from using AI for development. It opens a million doors for the gaps in the developers weaknesses, allowing them to make a product to their vision while on a budget. But won't somebody please think of the artists???
We could see it as a "big corporations are ruining everything" and "the jobs!!!" angle. I would expect anti-AI messaging from the Bernie/AOC progressive wing. 2026 could be a trial run for some 2028 messaging.Would a Democrat Presidential Nominee even use anti-AI as part of his/her ad campaign? And who out of the potential nominees (Newsom, Shapiro, Hochul, Pritzker, Green, AOC, Harris, Clinton) would be the most likely to do so?
Data centers have a political problem — and Big Tech wants to fix it (archive)More than half a dozen people closely involved with the issue in Washington told POLITICO that Sacks undercut the tech industry’s effort on Capitol Hill to craft a more permanent federal solution on state AI rules, instead ramming through unilateral action that could turn AI law into a national political fight.
Arizona city rejects data center after AI lobbying push (archive)Alarmed by elections that candidates won by campaigning against new data centers, the industry is taking out ads and funding campaigns to flip the narrative and put data centers in a positive light — spinning them as job creators and economic drivers rather than resource-hungry land hogs.
The new campaigns mark a sharp change for an industry that has long relied on tech’s image as an engine of growth and development. They signal how concerned the tech sector is becoming about data centers in the 2026 midterm elections.
How AI job cuts could come back to haunt Trump (archive)The project, along with Sinema’s involvement, attracted significant community opposition, with speakers raising concerns about whether the project would use too much water or raise power prices. Residents packed the council chambers, with many holding up signs reading “No More Data Centers.”
The truth is that in indie dev, artists are allowed to use whatever tools and shortcuts they want, even ChatGPT, but programmers aren't. Artists have got them by the balls and it shows.Anyways, this dumb award show stripped Clair Obscur of its wins of course lmao.

Republican senator Marsha Blackburn just unveiled the TRUMP AMERICA AI Act which will make everyone super safe from big bad AI and also fucks with Section 230 for good measure. My theory on the AI bubble bursting is that it won't happen until the end of 2028. >disqualify the multi-million dollar AAA studio from the indie game awards because of AI, not because it's a multi-million dollar AAA studioAnyways, this dumb award show stripped Clair Obscur of its wins of course lmao.

I think she believes that putting "Trump" in the name means that he'll support it, but come on, even Trump is not that simple.Republican senator Marsha Blackburn just unveiled the TRUMP AMERICA AI Act which will make everyone super safe from big bad AI and also fucks with Section 230 for good measure.
I don't care what you think about his politics, Gil Scott-Heron was a genius (and a hilarious one at that).I have two theories.
(1) Part of the training process for AI is getting humans to rate outputs from models in progress, and this is a job that some people in Africa do (archive). As the linked article will remind you, remote employing an African at a competitive salary for their third-world country is basically slavery and an insult to the dignity of the holy negroid, and it's easy to broken telephone this sentiment into "AI is black slavery."
(2) Every so often you see people arguing against establishing human societies on other planets on that grounds that it is colonialism and colonialism is bad. Applying the same "logic", having an AI servant who tirelessly does stuff you ask it to is slavery and slavery is bad. These people are fundamentally against any kind of human progress and will argue that all funding for higher endeavours should be redirected to subsidising the underclasses.
one of my favorite AI seethers. reminder that she's literally the embodiment of the fat ogre hiding behind a vtuber avatarwant you to know that I had to skim parts of this video because not only did I have to sit through FNA's grating ass voice reading each tweet annoyingly, but also I had to lay my eyes on THE WORST FUCKING VTUBER MODEL OF ALL FUCKING TIME!
Something something "You show me the man, I'll show you his crime".However, unbeknownst to Fountain, an EEEEEEVIL AI bro would concoct a sinister plan to ruin his daughter's drawing FOREVER. Yes, with the power of NanoBanana, SirSpamsALot would feed Gypsy's art into the orphan crushing machine and... digitize it with some accompanying poses.
Also lol. Lmao. Not a chance in hell this creature drew and animated this avatar.
Who the fuck names their child after Gypsies? They are so despised that even progressives openly hate them, and those who don't instead will get upset over you naming your white child an ethnic slur. It's like naming your white son Nigger. However, unbeknownst to Fountain, an EEEEEEVIL AI bro would concoct a sinister plan to ruin his daughter's drawing FOREVER. The timing of this suggests that it was going to sweep their awards too, and they are using this as a pretext to not give it any more awards. The anti-AI rationale is stupid of course but as a business decision it seems way better for the health of the ecosystem to spotlight other games that need help finding bigger audiences. Maybe the rule is if you win certain categories at the VGA you get disqualified from the indies. Or you do the indie awards first like how the indie film awards precede the Oscar voting season.would respect this decision slightly more if they had stood on business and not nominated it in the first place, but this reeks of a publicity stunt and/or attempt to cash in on the growing backlash against this game after its Game Awards sweep.
So apparently the people running Jeopardy decided to make a whole ass disclaimer about lolsuing people if they use the show for AI training, and go figure the Bluesky people are happy about it.
