I think it is pretty interesting how hormones are shared between sexes and even between species. For example insulin for diabetes used to be sourced from pig spleens. It's close enough to human insulin you can use it.
I have no clue how they try to relate it to fishes though. The baby starts out female in the womb, but under influence of testosterone turns male. That's why men have nipples. That estrogen gives you breast growth, and testosterone gives you beard growth is just those hormones latching onto the vestigial receptors.
