I'm kind of disgusted at the pedophile sympathy as if it's some trivial crime that just needs rehabilitation. Your thought process could also be applied to serial killers, in that we should be trying to rehabilitate these people who want to commit vile and horrific acts against innocent people who are simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. For the good of society, some people need to be permanently segregated from society. Maybe it's sad that someone is afflicted by some mental ailment or disability that led them down this path, but the other option is to let them roam free in society and hope you can stop them in the act of brutally murdering (and/or committing other disgusting vile acts against) an innocent person. I'd rather live in a society that accepts that some people are just too dangerous to be given any level of freedom, than a leftist dystopian society (ex. A Clockwork Orange) that wants you to "feel sorry" for the predator as he viciously guts you to death.

See this is a sneaky word game you are playing to write me off without even trying to understand what I'm saying. Murderers is much more general term than SERIAL KILLER, in that murder encompasses a massive range of scenarios from gang violence to domestic situations to manslaughter, while serial killers are specifically people who will kill for the sake of killing. Serial killers have an innate drive to kill, whether they derive pleasure from it, or have psychotic breaks from reality and do it unconsciously. I am drawing parallels to pedophiles in that they specifically have a innate drive to harm children, even if they themselves are consciously trying to resist their urges.

The problem is that in both cases, these people are so dangerous to society, that they cannot be trusted not to act on these urges. You may cope about therapy but there is simply no way to be sure that it will truly work, and I don't want to live in a society that will let pedophiles and serial killers roam freely while such therapy is tested, and fine tuned (after it's inevitable initial failures). This leftist vision of society that sympathizes with predators to the degree that we (normal people) are forced to live with these predators as a result of some appeasement to virtue ("look how good we are for giving even predators a fair shot at life") is an unimaginably dystopian society that would be hell to live in. I'm serious about the A Clockwork Orange reference, that is exactly the society your mindset/values would put us into.

I would still not want one in my town. I pity those .0000001% that actually hate themselves, but I would rather offer them a fast, painless death. There is no fixing that kind of broken. Just like how there is no cure for schizophrenia, or bpd, there is only management.
Except risking a pedo being alive is risking innocence and possibly lives if they decide they don't want the child to rat them out. No pedophile, no matter how self hating, should ever be welcomed into a community that has children. It's incredibly sad, they didn't ask for that illness, maybe they can't help it, but that's exactly WHY they should die, if they can't help it. They're not safe for society, they will be hated qherever they go, no community will want to help or spend time with them. It would unironically be a mercy, because imagine the profound loneliness and agony of knowing you will never be accepted, and you are a true danger to others?
I will say the same thing about rapists, murderers and animal torturers. If you are a certain kind of broken, it is a mercy to give you a swift, painless death. It will be the only time people won't look at you with hatred, but with pity, and only pity.

Edit: I should specify serial killers or abusive people that killed. Killing in self defense or a psychotic break are different. Psychotic breaks can be properly managed in a safe setting in a hospital, but they should never leave it. People afraid for their lives or that feel they have no choice are exempt. (Sorta like fathers who beat their childs rapists to death, they're gucci)
