I'm not a lawyer, but if being government, covert or otherwise protected you against prosecution, then it would mean you couldn't prosecute people in government. It would place judicial completely subservient government, when by structure they are supposed to be equal powers with their own jurisdiction.

Think about it, you could never sue the government or any of its members in their professional capacity if the government was sacrosanct from legal rules and prosecution.

Similarly, if you allow people to lie to congress with impunity simply for being government, then it becomes very hard for congress, the legislative branch, to receive good information to inform their lawmaking.

This is why when cia or other agencies engage in extralegal activity, they'll burn the asset rather than protect it and deny involvement. They wouldn't say "oh yeah we know you're technically supposed to judicate the limits of what we can do, but we told him to lie to you for our own purposes".

Maybe that could be a small part of it. But what I saw was mostly Pierce was refusing the Acknowledge Nicks point, and he was playing stupid/completely ignoring what he was actually saying.

Then Nick says either you're dumb or playing dumb. That exchange happens. Then Nick says I don't think you're dumb, to imply that Pierce knows what he is saying but is in bad faith misinterpreting it. So really it was him calling saying what he was doing was malicious.

That's the way I read it at least.

I kinda disagree. There is a flood of groypers tweeting at him about being destroyed. Some are funny memes but a lot of it is very piss poor. His responses are actually slightly above what the average groyper is tweeting at him. He doesn't even have to be funny, the underlaying message is "I am not that fazed and I am not going away".

That's what we know about groypers, the self respecting ones, the ones with some ego wouldn't have hung around Nick. They're all yes men. They know how to flood mentions and that might intimidate people not used to it, but someone like Piers is. And they don't even seem to pick up on that fact making it look lamer.

You pretty much have to spend too much time online to think being labeled as racist isn't a big deal to normal people. The accusation has been overused, but when someone basically goes "yeah I'm the thing you're accusing me of who gives a shit", it makes it not look like an inappropriate accusation.

You would think they would have more loyalty to Ben than that. Ben isn't just their boss, he's a close friend of both Walsh and Knowles going back years. They're buddies and this isn't how buddies treat each other..

I feel bad for Ben Shapiro you guys, I'm going to be honest. It's hard not to feel sorry for the poor Jewish guy. These people surrounding him, many of whom he counted as personal friends, are like sharks who smell blood in the water and are trying to finish him off. They sense he has a mortal wound and they're preying on his vulnerability which is pretty fucked up because he gave these people multimillion dollar careers to begin with and they're all just backstabbing him. The daily wire had deals with youtube and had effectively a monopoly on right wing social media for years and with that evaporating so is their audience. He couldn't even browbeat Megan Kelly over the Charlie Kirk thing publicly which was very embarrassing for him.

So yeah, he knows he's lost battle after battle so why wouldn't he lose some confidence, which was propped up by backroom deals in the first place?

That's not really true tho, because even if being terminally online causes you to become completely delusional, just the mere fact that you became permanently and irrevocably delusional and brainwashed can cause you to change the way other people think. Breaking the Overton Window after all requires people who are rigid and unbending in their thinking to the point of being delusional. It requires people who are "brainwashed" to some degree.

How do you think cults become so contagious and influential? They start out with a core group of devotees who are mostly seen as fucking weirdos, but because they're so delusional and brainwashed, they just keep faithfully pushing their ideology until eventually the rest of the world comes around to their way of thinking and submits. Well okay not literally "the rest of the world" but the point is that's how a tiny group of people can end up influencing a much larger group of people and then achieving world domination or whatever the fuck.

It's just that some people seem to have mistaken normal people understanding that liberals were calling everyone bigots was retarded, for meaning that the label of bigot itself had lost all meaning or that people were actually fine with being openly racist. This is somewhat true but it's also just cultural lag. Races really are different. Sexes really are different. The taboos about saying these things are ephemeral, the reality is not. Insofar as Fuentes is now appearing on mainstream media and you can say "retard" on Twitter and so on, that's all a move towards normalization of the facts. It doesn't happen overnight.
