If I'm ever looking for information on something tech related I always end up on a thread on Reddit after Googling and it's really frustrating trying to follow a thread when it gets derailed by redditors trying to out-wacky each other by taking a statement that looks like it's about to follow up into useful discourse and they start trying to witty banter back and forth over something stupid like a typo or taking a sentence one way and turning it into a joke. It happens literally every time I end up looking for information there.
 
The idea that someone else can ruin your hobby makes little sense to me. Sure, I can understand a hobby that involves interacting with other people being ruined, like Tabletop Games, multiplayer vidya, baseball, etc. But if your passion for whittling was ruined by someone else being a queer while whittling then you clearly didn't like whittling all that much to begin with.
 
Comics and video games were bodied by the #metoo movement. Suddenly women were leads in everything, and women produce nothing but self-absorbed, self-aggrandizing, self-pitying shit with themselves as the main character. Worse, they held the door open for niggers, troons, and everyone else who was higher on oppression pyramid than they were, and once THOSE types were inside... it was over.

I’ve honestly also seen right wingers do this, usually with the excuse that something is “oldfag culture” so “trannies can’t do it”. A furry? Playing TF2? NO WAY. :o

But I’d say the left version has been much more obstructive in a way that’s kinda gross imo. Zelda and Samus are trans cause they’re strong women? When the Falcon and Winter Solider show came out I asked a black dude I know if he was going to watch it because we both like Captain America and particularly, Bucky. You know what he said? You know exactly what that shit is gonna be. I watched it, and he was right. But it sort of clicked with me back then, that yeah. Nobody likes this shit beyond the people making it. Nobody likes being talked down to or told they should like something bc of who they are.

There's been efforts from official Breyer to incorporate black equestrians (lmao where bitch? Where? I’ve also noticed that when it comes to these types, when you offer a legit solution, they get irrationally angry. Because they don’t want a solution and they’re shocked to be called out on that.

You are being overly cynical and paranoid. There are places you can be vulnerable but just like you said, kiwifarms is not one of them. This site is actually really good at reinforcing the idea that you shouldn't throw stones when you live in a glass house. Because it's fun to read schizo posts on here about why having a specific trait actually makes you deeply pathological and a flawed human being, especially when you can apply it to someone you dislike. It's fun until they do the same to a trait you have. That trait can be anything from part of a specific demographic to having a specific hobby, to how you dress. The gender hate threads are a very circle jerky example of this because you can go right now and find a bunch of (if you're cynical) vaguely believable arguments for the opposite gender is lesser, then you can go read equally "convincing" ones about your own. You can also do the same with any fandom or activity.

I have aspects of myself I am insecure about like anyone else, but I would never in a million years talk about them on here. Nor would I post about my hobbies on here for privacy reasons.

The real struggle of OPSEC on kiwifarms isn't basic shit like not reusing usernames, it is watching people spread the most retarded and incorrect information about field or franchise you are actually knowledgeable about irl and not correcting them because it would be revealing more information about yourself.

people used to do shit for passion but if you did origami all of a sudden the world's 100 best origami makers are not only there but continuously in your face 24/7 and it just kills the soul of things a little bit

every hobby/group attracted tryhards, faggots and everything like it was a high school social club

everyone adjusted their social expectations and behavior to match what everyone else was doing for the most part, meaning diversity died off

everything became hyper commodified and available on amazon to the highest bidder (pay2win hobbiez)
