Car :autism: incoming:

Every single American car mentioned in John's now deleted tweet is either a legitimate track monster (Corvette, Viper) and / or has a track focused variant that receive nothing but praise from people who actually know about cars (C7 Z07, Viper ACR, Cobra GT350R, Z28/1LE).

Also she misspelled Camaro.

Cameros were one of the favorite automachines of late author Charles Dickenson.

A used Tesla Roadster, jfc. That, amazingly enough, might be an even WORSE choice than the used Audi. At least with the Audi you only have to drive a few miles to find a mechanic. For a Tesla you have to find a specialist unless it's a simple mechanical problem.

I'm sure a political and legal wunderkind like Brianna Wu doesn't need to be told this, but any serious attempt by one of the several States to enter into a compact or treaty with a foreign power is in direct violation of Article I of the US Constitution. Still, delightful to see Democrats discovering the wonders of states' rights after all these years.

Yeah, but they're not doing that. They're simply saying "We will abide by the guidelines spelled out by the Paris Climate Agreement". This doesn't constitute a treaty any more than following the elements of style constitutes a treaty with Strunk and White.

Sure, they're free to abide by the terms of the treaty -- or even form a compact among themselves to do so -- but if they sign anything or try to form any kind of accord with another country to do it, they're going to run into significant legal problems.

Oh, absolutely. I don't think anyone intends to do anything like that though.

If they do, well, lol at the inevitable federal court case loss.

I don't either ... but let's say I also don't exactly trust a grandstanding jackass like Jerry Brown or the idiot princeling Andrew Cuomo not to do something like that.

Jerry Brown has told the CalExit people to fuck off, which leads me to believe that, while he's a grandstander, he's not intending to tell America to go fuck itself.

Cuomo, on the other hand, is a fucking idiot and I could see him doing something like that.

Bloody awful name for a strip club.

I had to read that twice to make sure it didn't spell "Banana Wu for congress". Also if you ever needed any proof that they just squander their donation money on their pet projects, there you have it.
No John we have never once heard you talk about the 2001 Audi TT that you don't have a license to drive and that you pay other people to work on for you. Nonetheless thank you for reminding all of us that you are continuing to fritter your campaign donations away on personal hobbies.

Didn't he go on and on about how great of a automotive tech™ he was replacing that airbag "computer" like the narcissistic asshole he is? Hilarious that whatever he did fucked it up enough to take SIX FUCKING WEEKS at a shop repairing what he bungled and broke pulling it apart
If we're lucky they've just deactivated the warning lights... the chances on that aren't that slim, actually. I am not sure how car inspections are done in the US, but you would be surprised about some of the (inadvisable) things you could do, to weasel yourself through a inspection.

I don't know shit about repairing airbags (there are things you should leave to the experts). IIRC all the sensors are usually inside the airbag computer, which is most times located somewhere beneath the drivers seat. However I do know that replacing faulty wiring in a car is one of the most tedious jobs you can imagine, and therefore can get very expensive. One of the cables might have a fracture you do not see from the outside and which causes a loose connection. Which means that you don't get any bad readings when you check it at the shop, but once you start driving and the car vibrates. The connection breaks for a split second and the warning light pops back on again until you reset the car's error memory. If you can't figure out which cable it is, you are usually stuck with replacing them all... if it is a cable at all, since you can't really tell for sure.

That's what I guess what happened here, the light popped up, Frank drove it to the shop, they replaced the thing most likely responsible for the error, checked it, everything was fine and a few days later the light popped back up again.

Thing is, that the biggest damage of US wanting to leave the Paris Accords isn't done to the environment, but to the reputation and standing of the US in the world. If Wu would pay even the slightest attention to global politics she would know that.

Unless Trump annexes liberates single-handedly North Korea in the next three years, I don't think he will get a second term. It will also take years to rescind formally from the deal. Even if he rejects the accords from one day to another, the economy wont rip out their filters or something, because they expect the next president (no matter if democrat or republican) to sign the next accords that comes along. So unless Americans start to built their own personal coal power plants in their backyards by tomorrow, no much will happen. Even if he gets a second term, it really doesn't change that much, considering all the resistance he is meeting for that decision.

No matter what do you think about the mainstream media, and how much they are demonizing him (which they do to a certain extent), Trumps behavior is highly unprofessional foreign-policy wise and upsetting most of Europe.
Merkel already dropped a line that Europe shouldn't have 'unquestionable confidence in our partners' (meaning the USA) and Junker was outright mocking Trumps decision:

"That’s not how it works. The Americans can’t just leave the Climate Protection Agreement. Mr. Trump believes that because he doesn’t get close enough to the dossiers to fully understand them. It would take three to four years after the agreement came into force in November 2016 to leave the agreement. So this notion, ‘I am Trump, I am American, America First and I’m going to get out of it’ – that won’t happen. We tried to explain that to Mr. Trump in Taormina in clear German sentences
(He actually said: 'clear german main clauses' as in 'in really simple words'). It seems our attempt failed, but the law is the law and it must be obeyed. Not everything which is law and not everything in international agreements is fake news, and we have to comply with it."

The dash lights don't matter. They're just an indication that DTC's are being detected and stored in the vehicle's computer, and even with the lights disconnected or burned out, the code's are still retrieved when you hook up a reader to the OBDII port.

How psychotic and self-hating do you have to be to say that your entire gender brings no joy to human existence. You and your like-minded chimpanzees are absolutely fucked in the head, John.

Neither do the people talking about Wonder Woman. Then again, I don't expect any of them to look into the history of the character. I rather enjoyed the character back in the day when she had weaknesses, now she's too much of a Mary Sue to be enjoyed. She makes Superman look tame in comparison and he created a Deus Ex Machina suit.

What is Brianna even mad about? Seems like Wonder Woman has been received very positively almost everywhere and has certainly fared better than ultra-macho 'man' films like Batman vs. Superman.

I don't even really care about this, but women are only going to be genuinely on equal footing with men when people can criticise their art without fear of reprimands and it's accepted that women can make things that are absolute crap. Treating them like children who can do no wrong and take no criticism is counter-productive to the whole enterprise.
