Despite harboring spite against 4Chan & /v/, they clearly weren’t immune to their antisemitic rhetoric. The Toads in the game also have Stars of David on their caps.

My best guess is that they didn’t actually hate /v/, they just couldn’t stand the userbase, even though they still appreciated the humor. The only thing an edgy person hated back then was a another edgy person. I, for one cannot stand modern day twitter, but due to being on there for so long, I cant help but laugh at some of the few in jokes some people on there share from time to time.

A lot of people have been posting memes and the like about how a lot of characters in the game share yellow and pink eyes, such as Spamton and "FRIEND", so much so that it made its way into all the WPlace raiding the Deltarune fanbase was doing a few months back.

This has been one of the best threads on the site. I'm sorry to see it end, and there'd definitely be potential to catalogue stuff up to the Tumblr porn ban, but I'm glad to have been around for the ride. Something I think that could have been covered was Fanfiction and its scene. While it predates Tumblr, Fanfiction was about as important to its culture as art/animation, and its alumni have also had inordinate impact on the publishing scene, to the point where they de-facto control it and have turned fantasy into a byword as smut for women.

I'm sure there's some people behind this to some extent. Due to the fall of Hollywood and how terrible American media has become, normies turned somewhere else, especially Japan. The wokes' answer was to intensify the infiltration of the usual types into Japan to corrupt them as well, and it shows: Compare Squeenix from say 2010s to today. These days they have become as censoring and pro-homo as anywhere else.

While ESG efforts might have helped accelerate this, I don't believe that the specific "wokeification" of Japanese media happened deliberately. One has to remember that a lot of the western "localizers" (+VAs and so on, the whole JP-to-EN sphere was already extremely incestuous by the 2010s) who wormed their way into decision-making roles in JP companies were doing so before they all veered hard into progressivism over GamerGate. (you know, the thing that went down 6 years before anime became "normie") It should also be noted that these people were already accustomed to screwing with Japanese media out of spite for their customers, so of course they jumped onto the first moral justification they found for doing so.
I believe that it was a result of Japanese companies looking westward to keep the money flowing (remember that JP population is in decline), at a time when events like OWS, the big diversity hiring craze it spawned, and then in this instance GamerGate had just turned their western branches/associates into wokie central.

Almost forgot: I found it funny that you mention the ThanksPenders guy. He's relatively harmless as he focuses on talking about Penders and his insanity, which only affects the Archie comic for the most part. Sonic IDW, on the other hand, has terrible writers whose Twitter profiles are anything but kid-friendly, but I believe SEGA does pay some (minimal) attention. Long story short, the latest issue of this month has an obvious self-insert boy who was meant to be a blatant they-them/themself/xir thing, but someone had called out the writers at the last second, as instead he has no pronouns and is instead referred by his name, and it feels clunky as hell.

In regards to changes that have taken place at the top recently, the dismantling of USAID was definitely a big one, and quite a few of the going-ons at USPG2 apparently signify changes taking place at a governmental level. Since you could make the argument that the "Millennial-led, deconstruction/post-modernist" media we have now could be considered a product of the Obama era, I'm curious if we'll ever get to see "Trump era" media actually come to fruition or not, since a lot of the media that had released, or entered development, during the 2016 election clearly felt like it was being made with a hypothetical "Hilary era" in mind. Female Star Wars, Female Ghostbusters, Female Dr. Who, Female President.

Good for America, I guess, but Europe is going down the drain and has been working hard at censoring the Internet for decades, so things won't improve that easily.

It cannot be overstated that an actual, literal communist conspiracy is at work and has been for a hundred years. The ideology percolated from Marcuse and Gramsci in the Frankfurt School into Paulo Freire and his Pedagogy of the Oppressed - a framework called "Critical Pedagogy" that aims to unify Marxist indoctrination into mainstream education through "generative themes" (the logic being that, because communism is the natural state of humans, people's desire to learn will be sparked by lessons that give them the tools to understand their own oppression. Thus, if you make every lesson have to do with Current Year gay race communism, students will naturally be more engaged.)

Freire and his associate, Donaldo Macedo, worked to get fellow Marxists tenured positions in American colleges of education, 100 of them by some accounts. You'll see this, for instance, in Isaac Gottesman's "The Critical Turn in Education" (a book from 2016 that is not some Con Inc. 'schools are woke!' slop, but a victory lap by the communists gloating about their accomplishments and how to replicate it). The communist radicals of the sixties and seventies didn't disappear - they went into academia. Rudi Dutschke called it "The Long March Through the Institutions."

Damn, I wasn't aware the fuckhead Paulo Freire had some outreach in America. He's a cancer in Brazil - then again, Communists work without borders. And for those who think that "communism is dead", I would say the old type of it may be, the social democracy/liberal democracy model is very much alive. The Long March through institutions is proof of this.

The project to make American public education a communist indoctrination program was more or less completed in the nineties. The younger millennials were all brought up in an education system that was designed to get them to realize the inherent, intersectional oppression of western cis-white hetero-capitalist patriarchy. Some of them really took to this, and became what we called SJWs. When they grew up, there were entire networks of communist agitators ready to take them in. Conservatives were shocked when communists would riot and burn shit and then immediately get bailed out of jail and have excellent lawyers - they have bail and legal defense funds they've been building since Vietnam.

This is why you see people who are pretty much close to being functionally illiterate - a problem that was known in Third World countries; and now thanks to the "Deconstructionist" ideals of Frankfurt School, they propagandise it through race and class.

They're all different groups, they just incidentally are incentivized to operate in the same way, so it looks top-down yet without being able to identify a specific source. In reality, it's multiple distributed actors with similar goals and tactics.

I would add that everything is much, much deeper after the Cold War. We live in an age where we see commies who aren't truly blood red, but more like suburbanites who have a comfortable life thanks to Capitalism; and are coombrained. Not only that, but there are the many factions at work. It's almost something straight out of the Bible - "Mystery Babylon".

I feel like I cannot overstate the influence of Freire in American education. Critical Pedagogy is the dominant theory of education in the US. SEL is an extension of Freire's "generative themes" from purely economic matters to sex, gender, race, sexuality, etc.. You can look right now and see that "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" is the number one most cited work in all of Education Studies in America (and number two or three in all of the social sciences).

To say that Freire 'influenced American education' is likely saying Hitler influenced WW2. American education IS Freirean education. Literally every teacher working in the United States today that graduated in the last thirty years has been taught Freirean Critical Pedagogy (which again, I absolutely must stress is admittedly, openly, and intentionally a form of communist indoctrination) the way any musician was taught Western Standard music notation, as though it was the one and only method and there was no point in contemplating if there was even another way. It is the water they swim in.

There can be no hope until these people are rooted out. Western education needs to be completely gutted and remade because it's literally infected.

I'm in academia in the STEMiest of STEM fields and constantly have to fight back against attempts to make our curriculum more accessible by abandoning consensus reality. I could probably do a version of this thread on my own on the origins and genealogy of modern communism and how it went from "the peasants want bread" to "Uber rich socialites demanding we cut off kids weiners."

And I'll say, virtually none of you realize how bad the situation really is. People point out shit like the NEJM saying "birthing persons" like they don't know what a woman is as some kind of recent scientific cataclysm, but we're forty years passed papers appearing in mainstream journals declaring that capitalism prevents us from knowing 'real math' that will let us realize the revolution. Josh mentioned that the Wikimedia Foundation is a money laundering NGO, but most people don't realize that your donations go to pay for black women to run YouTube channels with 13 views talking about how power defines reality and scarcity only exists because capitalism has convinced us that entropy exists, and only if people could achieve true Class Consciousness they'd realize that literally nothing is impossible: not infinite resources, not a world without any work by anyone ever, not men turning into women on a whim - a true infinite utopia at the end of history, only kept from us because not enough people "believe."

And I don't know what the English-speaking Twitch scene is like, but the "dark-woke" culture and the influence of breadtubers (or...breadstreamers?) like Hasan Piker are very noticeable.

But on the other hand, with everything that's happening now: Trump's second term, Musk's Twitter leadership, the Palestine fatigue, Grummz and his Gamergate 2: Gooner Boogaloo, Charlie Kirk's death, the backlash against TikTok culture (which some consider "the new Tumblr"), the AI phenomenon and the artists' war against it

This entire thing is amazing because it essentially reveals the through-line of poz. It's weird how many of these things I knew of, and knew they were connected, but didn't exactly know how, outside of "They all know each other, and fans of X are usually fans of Y"

Something that tickles my brain is how aspects of the internet coalesce and become personified in websites, and then after those websites die, they're reincarnated as different sites, but with that same aspect guiding them, some 40k shit. And by sheer coincidence, despite growing up in this time period and being well familiar with all of these things, I've always had a strange aversion to Tumblr, livestreamer culture, Overwatch, Undertale, Calarts (hate using that term but it's useful), etc. Glad to know I'm on the right side of history :^)
