Did they just mistranslate Oregon as Michigan? Is it even possible to do that? Did the localizers change it because they felt hekkin targeted by the anime picture book?

She did Michigan, then Oregon when that didn't work and finally Virginia.

I feel like I should also point out that her sword design is lazy as shit. If I were from Oregon, I'd be more insulted about my state being turned into placeholder text than it being stolen from under my feet.

So far all of the states she chose have bodies of water next to them. Michigan has the Great Lakes, Oregon and Virginia border the Pacific and Atlantic respectively. She's likely choosing states like that so the author doesn't have to go into specifics about just how much of the state she takes because he can just say the bodies of water expand to cover their previous locations.
