Sadly, it's almost entirely different accounts. Apparently there are a ton of people who will immediately chimp out at the mention of a woman who holds slightly left of center opinions, or who doesn't think men are blameless victims of the trans menace (which, funnily enough, is the same thing they accuse TERFs of but with the genders reversed). Being on this site has actually made me more politically moderate, because it's taught me that a lot of things I hate about the left (such as their self-destructive purity spiraling and hatred of apostates) are also found on the right.

Weirdly, a lot of these people also have strong opinions about her children's books, which for me is the most baffling RDS symptom. If someone could explain why personally disliking a famous woman turns grown men into literary critics of books written for 12-year-olds, I would appreciate it.

Just so it's clear, I think there are plenty of men and women who have eagerly taken part in the destruction of social norms and values that has brought us to where we are now. JKR focuses specifically on the threat trans activism presents to women and their spaces, because protecting other women is the cause she's chosen to dedicate herself to. I wouldn't be upset at all if a male activist dedicated himself specifically to saving young men from online grooming and porn addiction. I actually think more men should do that instead of arguing about whether feminists are to blame for men in dresses.

Jo ain't as deranged as most extreme progressives, but she's let herself get carried away by it. Remember her condemnation of Pewdiepie as a fascist over one honest mistake he apologized for later. You'd think she'd know better as she's herself been quite demonized by the press and she also wrote in one of the HP books how media and state can get together to destroy someone's reputation when they find them inconvenient. Her hard work against troons is welcome, but she's not the neutral participant people think she is.

In events like this, artist rarely perform more than two songs unless they're too, too popular. Queen's performance at Live Aid was a medley of their songs.
 
There is already pushback on this concert on Twitter. I am going to switch discussions of that stuff to Jolyon Maugham's thread if anyone is interested as it's nothing to do with JKR and quite a lot to do with him. I smell a disaster in the making (touch wood).
 
Harry Potter is officially happening in Fortnite.

The latest update included a placeholder stick figure drawing for an upcoming broom item.

The Nick Eh 30 thing may be the dumbest aspect of this whole leak.

Nick’s a Fortnite streamer whose literal entire mantra is “family friendly, positive vibes only.”

While looking up leaks on stream, one of the leakers he was following said “TRANSPHOBIA IS COMING TO FORTNITE” and Nick unfollowed him on-stream, leading to a bunch of people calling him transphobic for… not allowing what is clearly “negative vibes”.
 
Troons are really good at making me want to install Fortnite, buy a Harry Potter skin and then default dance on their corpses.
More companies should try this "annoy the fuck out of troons" marketing campaign.

For one last update on this for now, the date they were talking about was actually corroborated by other Fortnite leakers.

Harry Potter skins arrive during Winterfest, which starts December 11th. Two weeks until the meltdown begins, Wizard Game BR edition.

Fucking hell. What both woke and antiwoke people seem to be incapable of grasping is the crazy idea, that people might change their mind.
Maybe Rowling initially was for helping refugees from a war torn country, especially if the media behaved the same way it did here and manipulated the shit out of public discourse (for example only showing families and small children, not the wave of young men who made the bulk of "refugees"). And changed her mind once she saw what flooded Europe. Or maybe she didn't. Unless we get a definitive statement, this is just theorycrafting anyway.

Nobody has to like Rowling, but this "X don't share all of my views, therefore X bad" is one reason why we make fun of trannies.

I agree with that. I've myself changed my mind about many things during the past ten years, the most politically deranged years I can remember to have lived through, and I'm sure Jo has gone through that as well.

Thing is, she hasn't changed about some things that are too dangerous to society. Like, I know a guy who's a hardcore commie and he's pro-gun. That doesn't make him "based". He is still a moron who happened to have one good idea.

Like, look at this recent RT and the phrasing of the things she's RTing: "the reason women want (spaces) should make men ashamed". She fundamentally thinks that men are all naturally predatory against women and they should give in to all of their demands to be a good ally. All of the buzzwords we mock like patriarchy or misogyny or similar are part of her usual speak. The real answer would be men and women deserve their own spaces because they're different and have different needs, that's it.

Troons are degenerate savages, not men.

If she wasn't Jo and if she wasn't fighting against troons and she was a common feminist writer, we'd be mocking her tweets for being deranged.

I doubt I would. I don't think I would think about her at all if she wasn't as vocal against troons, I certainly didn't pay any attention to her before she refused to cater to the seriously deranged.
Maybe there would have been the odd brainrot tweet about some feminist cause, but overall it would be inane, vaguely politically correct stuff you could read anywhere.

The retweet is a direct response to women being attacked if they dare to say they don't want dick in their changing rooms, not saying men are evil per se. The men should be ashamed is just a stylistic choice or at most pointing at the fact that perpetrators of sexual violence are overwhelmingly male while the victims are overwhelmingly female and yes, one reason why there are segregated places for women in the first place. Which is just a fact.
