Several people were shot in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, including at least one member of the US National Guard, according to a source familiar with the early reports and a law enforcement official.

The shooting occurred in downtown Washington, DC, near the White House. DC Metropolitan Police said on X that they are at the scene of a shooting in the area and advised people to avoid the area.

The National Guard did not immediately respond to request for comment. The circumstances of the shooting are not immediately clear.

National Guard troops from multiple states have been in Washington, DC, for months as part of President Donald Trump’s anti-crime crackdown in the nation’s capital, which has since expanded to other cities across the country.

CNN has reached out to the Pentagon, the National Guard, the White House and DC’s metropolitan police for comment.

Hope these two that got shot recover, but it looked pretty bad in one of the photos I saw, so who knows. Now I am only wondering if this is just a brown being a criminal, a durka durka jihad, or far left terrorism.

From my facebook snooping I found the friends of one guardsman stating he was out of surgery. I have not seen the status of the other and no name has been released for her.
