Several people were shot in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, including at least one member of the US National Guard, according to a source familiar with the early reports and a law enforcement official.

The shooting occurred in downtown Washington, DC, near the White House. DC Metropolitan Police said on X that they are at the scene of a shooting in the area and advised people to avoid the area.

The National Guard did not immediately respond to request for comment. The circumstances of the shooting are not immediately clear.

National Guard troops from multiple states have been in Washington, DC, for months as part of President Donald Trump’s anti-crime crackdown in the nation’s capital, which has since expanded to other cities across the country.

CNN has reached out to the Pentagon, the National Guard, the White House and DC’s metropolitan police for comment.

Look giving up my bit for a moment be real if Trump cracks down the state and local govermenrs resist and he plays into the media hand. Again there is no good solution other than force the lefts hand and make them eat their words and rhetoric then.

Agreed. She would have pushed moderates further right in opposition to her sunken-head retard decisions, and it might have radicalized enough of America to usher in a Golden Age. Instead, we elected a moderate former Democrat who is shitting his pants and doing nothing, which will push Republicans back to the middle as they lose their faith in him and his Israel First acolytes, so we'll likely lose in 2026 and 2028 and probably the next century because the non-establishment outsider didn't have the balls to fucking do anything to reverse the country's decline.
