I think they mostly developed tools for data analysis that allowed departments to better take stock of things. There's a reason Elon grabbed up a bunch of data scientist types and then leased Grok to the US gov.

i've actually been doing a little experiment, speaking with different friends of mine across the political lines, and from what i can determine... no one really cares about democracy anymore. my left-wing friends believe democracy has failed to prevent itself from being co-opted by fascism or just that it's shitty at representing people. my right-wing friends think it's shit at representing people and keeping people safe as a governmental style.
The big problem is that the young right wingers don't get help from anyone established. Boomercons and technofeudalists (who have most of the money and influence on the right currently) will tie themselves into knots justifying magic dirt theory and don't have any problems with the US being a free-use brown economic zone. Military guys aren't much help either, since opposition to European monoculture is ingrained in the modern training regimen and many don't get terribly based beyond "Islam bad," but also can't spot taqqiya. Unlike the commies and globohomo psychos, they're not really interested in trying to get the youth to do much of anything beyond complaining at them. There's no real ground game on the local level and anyone in the club will absolutely fall back on "fuck you got mine" finger-wagging if politically active men under 30 try starting good ol' boys groups or advocating for their own interests in a way that doesn't make line go up. Even beyond that, look how atomized communication is in general. I couldn't name more than one person I know in real life who would say even a quarter of the things regularly discussed in this thread. So the only real option left a lot of guys see is just to check out. It's resistance in a sense, but doesn't really do anything to alleviate frustrations with the situation at hand or make things better. So the question for anyone who wants to do something is "what's the play" with a trillion dollar media complex, militarized security state, and sixty years of cultural inertia working against you.
What's more likely is the President will get progressively more power and everyone will just vote for an emperor every 4 years until one of them decides he or she does not want to leave office.
