Thank you for sharing this, I never knew India had a sort of social credit system. This whole thing must be exhausting mentally for Indians.... like imagine living your whole life having to handle this mental gymnastics which is ingrained in your culture.
Really something to think about, would this be similar to saving face?

Thank you, I guess it kinda makes sense because it would get him closer to a better reincarnation? I still don't see how it could build positive karma, but I will look into it.
In my head, it doesn't really mash with the fact that a lot of them are vegetarian (when being an animal is even worse than being a dalit), but they do have animal sacrifice, and a lot of regional differences. Anyways the concept that killing a dalit could actually be good karma is really interesting.

For those that enjoy prank calling, I am a big fan of calling jeet restaurants, ordering a large take out order, waiting 30 minutes and then calling back to cancel the order. It's kind of rude to waste food but it's incredibly based to waste these street shitter's money

In Japan you want to save face because it harms your reputation, and a reputation is very valuable and takes a shitload of work to build. Being honorable is just as valuable as appearing honorable. It's part of social cohesion and not just a personal thing.

In India you want to preserve your Izzat because if you don't everyone will laugh at you and you'll be raped. It exclusively comes from a place of personal insecurity, hence why saars will violently lash out to protect it.

The 1770 Indian famine was actually a major inspiration for the American Revolution.
