I think it is that they have been so sheltered their whole lives, they honestly believe these 'people' would never harm them or their country and they just want better lives and, worst of all, we can change them.

Going totally outside the box here:
I get the message they are trying to send but there is a pretty strong signal of ignorance being carried as well. It is a certain kind of messaging that bothers me.

It is perfectly reasonable to spend a ton of money every year on phones, sneakers, and takeout but owning a yacht is instantly bougifying. They are totally unaware of how broad the definition of a yacht actually is just that it is associated with middle to upper middle class white people in 80's movies and the super rich today.

There's nothing wrong with having done nothing with your life. The problem is that this stupid bitch has done nothing with her life and therefore has absolutely no experience, which is normally considered necessary for leadership positions, even in a fast food restaurant. In this case we're talking about the management of the tenth most economically important metropolitan area in the United States.
