I keep on seeing people saying that Hasan was showing off a meme about Mao. Maybe in the most literal sense of a meme, but wasn't it just an picture of Mao in front of the Forbidden City? It apparently had the text "Closely follow the great leader
Chairman Mao forward in the revolution!" (in Chinese, of course) and I haven't seen a single thing indicating that it had any of the irony or unserious nature of an actual meme, just literal CCP propaganda from the 50s (albeit, possibly AI generated).
And it's really easy for China to have the facade of being all ... cyberpunk when they completely overlook thinks like standards and valuing human life and safety. There are a couple of places China uses for propaganda purposes that are all neon and cyberpunk looking, but most of China is not like that. Once you get to the outskirts of those "advanced" cities, they become slums. And it only gets worse the further out into the rural areas.
Hold up, what do you think cyberpunk is? Not valuing human life or living standards is the very essence of cyberpunk. Also, you're not wrong that the outskirts of Chinese cities are slummy, but they are still cyberpunk, in fact being slummy makes them
more cyberpunk. China is pretty infamous for building completely ridiculous, mostly empty high-rises in places that simply don't have enough people with enough money to pay for an apartment, which (again) is cyberpunk as hell. I once visited some friends who lived in a rural town in one of these luxury apartments and we would go up to the completely empty top floors and shine our illegal laser pointers (which were still being sold on the street for a couple bucks) at the park and watch poor kids chase it like cats. Or we would walk 5 minutes out and get to the parts where people are essentially living in huts under the shadow of the high-rises and their neon signs. It really doesn't get more cyberpunk than that.
Cyberpunk isn't just a generic term for sci-fi with neon, it's dystopian with a massive and widening divide between the rich and the poor, but they're all living in one space because the class divide is no longer enforced with gates and armies but with security systems and police corruption while pretending that we're all more or less equal.
THIS. They want everyone to think they're something out of "Blade Runner"
Again, you guys
do realize that those stories are supposed to be dystopian, right? In Blade Runner (or at least Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep) Earth is basically being abandoned by the human race.
Tucker Carlson who recently signed the catboy armistice has made a blog post about Hasan Piker

"We'd be shocked"
Hasan's response will be to deflect to Tuckers interview with Putin and his mild glazing of Russia to get one of the biggest interviews in years.
Other than gay shit, do Tucker and Piker have substantive disagreements? Yeah, Piker hates America and Tucker is a patriot, but that's not real. I mean the actual, specific policies that they endorse, Tucker is anti-immigration and anti-trans and Piker is pro-immigration and pro-trans, but otherwise I think their worldviews are broadly aligned.
They also put islams into camps to remove kebab from their minds.
If
they hadn't killed the natives then the kebabs wouldn't have taken over Xinjiang in the first place
