I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate here for every single politician and judge who blocked the release of all the files, or possibly offer the most optimistic if somewhat cynical view (I don't care if they contract each other) of why this keeps happening:
None of them (or at least most) know what's in the files, but find bloviating about the other side not releasing them as decent argument fuel, so they'll just keep playing hot potato with the files in perpetuity to blame the other side rather than reveal something potentially incriminating about some rando dead Republican/Democrat politician who did diddle kids and thus negatively affect their job security due to guilt by association. I had never heard of Tim Berchett until now so him trying this stunt basically achieved his objective.

The best case for Dementia DonOld is that he is actively working to protect the pedophiles in the Epstein files by trying to prevent their release. The worst case is he participated or was involved in the trafficking. People wrongly assume that the Epstein island was some sort of Most Dangerous Game tier rape island where they set a bunch of kids loose and rich people hunt them for sport with their dicks out or something. Read Virginia Giuffre's biography- It's very clear that the M.O. was finding teenage runaways nobody would miss and training (grooming) them to be escorts using promises of money and easy employment. The Epstein island was a hedonistic "getaway" where Epstein and Maxwell would ply people with hookers and blow so they could blackmail them later. The actual vice itself is irrelevant. Everyone had a weakness, and the job was to find it. Steven Hawking was a known philanderer who cheated on his wife well into the progression of his ALS, so it's not hard to imagine they could have found him hookers. Maybe he wanted the young ones, maybe he wanted the old ones. Might not have even been hookers, could have been smack. Doesn't matter. Just like it doesn't matter whether Trump's hookers were 17 or 37, or whether he even partook of anything. The point is that he was buddy-buddy with a guy (who may or may not have been employed by Mossad) whose primary source of influence was from finding illegal vices to blackmail the rich and powerful with. This inherently compromises Trump no matter what.

So the evidence against Trump is 1. Wolff ordered Epstein to "gently imply" that he has "tapes." Which if true, Wolff would have released immediately and 2. Maxwell claimed Trump spent hours at her house with a woman who testified under oath that Trump neither had sex with nor even flirted with her or any other victim. Am I missing anything?

He did it without due process. Due process is the whole backbone of our legal system. That's why people were upset. The guy had no chance to even prove he was or wasn't who they said he was or that he was a citizen. ICE could arrest you and send you to a jail in Nigeria and there's nothing you could do about it. I get this argument, but surely its entirely possible to do a limited release and suppress your side's involvement? It wouldn't be suspicious at all to anybody not already biased towards trump if its released specifically as a move against him. Obviously child rape is abhorrent and anyone who does it will rot in hell. It's one of the worst things a person can do. But that being said, nobody else is willing to or capable of doing the good things that Trump is doing and therefore, I would argue that if Trump actually did do these things (which I sincerely doubt and have yet to see any credible evidence of), his righteous actions outweigh the evil ones. There are fewer Mexicans and Somalians disrupting my life now, groceries are cheaper, and I get the 24/7 entertainment of liberal screeching.
