Like most of the west, immigration is issue #1 right now and him mentioning Somalians eating pets and South American gangbangers occupying entire blocks while campaigning implied to his base that he was going to do something about it. Traditionally, FLOTTUS took on non-controversial projects such as beautifying median strips, encouraging children to read, and discouraging drug use. The two activist FLOTUS (Roosevelt & Clinton) were anomalous.
