In American crime news:
Per multiple ICE sources, the suspected DUI hit & run driver arrested for allegedly killing an elderly pedestrian in Orange County, CA on Friday is a Mexican illegal alien & ICE fugitive who has had an active deportation order since 2012.

57-year-old Humberto Munoz Gatica, a Mexican national, was arrested by ICE in 2011 for being in the U.S. illegally. He was released by the Obama administration ICE with a notice to appear in court, but never showed up, and was ordered deported in absentia by a federal immigration judge in 2012.

He has been an ICE fugitive ever since, living in the sanctuary state of California.

Photo of him provided by ICE source is from his last DHS encounter in 2011.

Police suspect Gatica was driving under the influence in Dana Point, CA on Friday when he crashed into a pedestrian, 71-year-old Barry William Tutt, then fled the scene.

Tutt died as a result of his injuries.

Gatica has been booked into the Orange County jail on suspicion of DUI causing death or bodily injury & hit and run causing death or bodily injury. Gatica has a prior arrest for robbery in 2011 in Orange County, CA, but he received a plea deal and was convicted instead of the lesser crime of grand theft and was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

The shutdown helped them rally votes in multiple critical races
-VA Governor
-NJ Governor
-PA Supreme Court special elections
-ME Senate race

Did it ?

Outside of the feds who were layed off in Virginia and SNAP niggers, both of which I highly doubt weren't going to vote dem regardless, the average voter could simply turn off cable news/political podcasts and not even be aware this was happening. Was one governorship flip in a normally blue state really it all this amounted to ?

holy shit these dominos niggers are taking so long we need congress to get involved and pass a bill requiring dominos to always deliver in less than 20 minutes

Breaking news:
Local judge in Guatemala has declared the end of the shutdown is illegal and a clear breach of the constitution.
The votes in the house and senate are anulled and the shutdown must continue.
Hawaiian traffic court judge rules government must remain shut down!

don't get me wrong, I'm happy the dems cucked out first for once, but I'm not sure i really understand this move from the Left's perspective.

The republicans were eating shit the longer this shutdown went on because it made them look like incompetent retards too scared to do anything to their base and independents. They were never going to use the nuclear option and actually govern and the media makes sure the republicans get blamed for all the negative effects anyway so why not let it ride till they caved?

they are full on melting down on reddit, it's a hoot.

these fucking retards don't even know what they're talking about. UC ulcerative collitis, meaning this guy has a bowel disease (good job admitting that in public retard) but also UC medication is dirt cheap.

dem faggot senator trying to recontextualize shit as cuts instead of what it actually is, temporary subsidies lapsing. bonus reddit political take that this weenie will ever run for president.

a final, desperate plea from a redditor.

It indicates to me that this wasn't actually true. Every poll, news outlet, and adrenochrome chugging celebrity that tells us people blamed republicans are the same ones that told us kamala was beloved. Possibly the actual data wasn't in their favor.

I think it had to do with remaining open days in the year. The holidays are coming up so the Congress would normally shut down for it and if they did with everything still shut down it would be a disaster for the country. We already had 2,200 flights canceled just today alone. Imagine going into Thanksgiving/Christmas with 10% less flights at the busiest airports nationwide. No food assistance for the needy. No money for federal workers or military. No chance to open anything until next year.
