If the government opens up I wonder what the democrats excuses are going to be when the epstein files don't release. When the shutdown first started they tried to run on that they had the votes and the only reason the government was being shutdown was because of that.

I linked the source for the first thing and quoted it when I posted the second thing.

Getting mad because a person you don't like found out essential information is dumb. Information is neutral.
just stop engaging with their obvious jew hate, it's not beneficial for you or the thread, man.

THESE ARE IMPORTANT JUDICIAL QUESTIONS
i agree.

that simply MUST BE ANSWERED
again, agreement.

by MY COURT
and they'd lose. not saying it's not accurate, but the dems have been getting bitchslapped left and right in the SCOTUS. no way the justice dept wouldn't pursue it all the way up to scotus, they've done so for every single previous one.

they're going to ignore it and continue asking why trump doesn't release all the files. democrats are extremely easy creatures to predict.

deal has been struck to reopen the government and end the shutdown. Key provisions include:
- Funding through Jan 31
-A December vote on ACA subsidies
- Reversing federal worker layoffs since Oct 1
-Full-year funding for the VA and SNAP
Clean minus minus some set backs.
I think Source missing back pay joke.

🚨 BREAKING: The Senate has reached a bipartisan deal to end the 40-day government shutdown and extend funding, with a vote expected Sunday night.

The package:
— Funds govt. through Jan 30, 2026 for most agencies
— Fully funds Ag/FDA, Veterans Affairs, and Military Construction for the full fiscal year
— Provides $153.3B discretionary + $263.7B mandatory for VA, incl. medical care & toxic exposure support
— Rehires all laid-off federal workers w/ full back pay
— Guarantees food stamps through FY2026
— Includes protections against mass federal layoffs this year
— Guarantees a Senate vote by mid-Dec on extending Affordable Care Act subsidies

The bipartisan breakthrough—brokered by Sen. John Thune with White House input—amends the House-passed bill into a “minibus” of 3 full-year appropriations. At least 8 Dems plan to back it, likely clearing the Senate before heading to the House.

If passed, the deal will reopen federal operations, secure pay for workers, and avert another funding crisis.

Sources: Politico, CNN, CBS, Reuters, Bloomberg, KVIA.

Ok so it will not pass then?
These niggas need to decide and stop flipflopping
If it doesn't pass, Dems get another opportunity to force Republicans to cuck out.

If it does pass, Trump and Republicans will give up on nuking the filibuster, leaving the door open for Democrats to do it anyway when they inevitably take back power.

It's a lose/lose scenario either way.

Johnson is literally refusing to seat a member of the house to block the vote to release them.

It's a lose/lose scenario either way.
Then why are the libs on reddit and places all panicking now? Their only thing is 'don't change ANYTHING'. It's amazing how dems went from 'hope and change' to 'if you change the status quo we'll kill you and your family'.

How does the government being shut down effect any of that? The Senate has been meeting regularly and could hold a vote in whatever committee to subpoena whatever other files from the Whitehouse they want to release (other than the 30k they already did that no one cared about). The best argument is they have the votes to do it from the house which hasn't been meeting since why bother meeting when the Senate hasn't voted on your bill and the government is shutdown.

In summary, don't expect anything.

Risk of default goes up with a longer term bc it enables people to take on a larger loan, and also bc of the range of typical buying age vs typical retirement/ income reduction age. No one wants to have a portfolio of properties 90% paid off by people 80 or 90 years old who can no longer pay for it
This seems intuitive, but I wonder if it's actually true. Lower monthly payments would make them less likely to go delinquent, and we can see that reflected in the fact that delinquency rates have been consistently falling since the GFC despite shorter term loans like the 15 year becoming a smaller and smaller portion of all mortgages.

Hell, thanks to the stilted amortization schedules, banks would stand to gain even more unless people completely change up their current habit of only staying in a house for an average of 12 years.

— Rehires all laid-off federal workers w/ full back pay
how will this work? don't furloughed workers only get backpay if they actually go to work? if none of these people actually showed up to work because they were fired how are they getting any kind of backpay?

oh, okay, after posting this i googled it and apparently in 2019 they passed a bill that says it's all government workers who get furloughed regardless of showing up. wow, what a great incentive to show up for work!

lol, even you aren't going to try to pass that off. right?

This motherfucker is trying to claim he's just an unbiased reporter now.
You can seethe all you want, doesn't change the fact that Tucker was caught laundering a foreign agents opinions without disclosure, something that you would have crucified anyone else for.

With full GOP attendance, there will be 52 “yes” votes (Rand Paul opposing)

Dem Sens. Fetterman, Cortez Masto & King have been backing the GOP CR. That’s 55.

Add Shaheen, Hassan & Kaine, that’s 58.

Nobody wants to be the 60th vote, so we’re looking at a few more Dem yeses.

Rand Paul being a cuck as always

so we have to listen a half hour of the Dems clap each other on the back for doing absolutely nothing? Awesome

Looking like a full cave, with just promises to vote later to maintain Obummercare subsidies. Talk of some Tim Kaine bill to stop OMB from firing more people but again, just a vote call so far.

They waited 40 days for nothing.
Alright. Feel free to call me a retard. If the Republicans can get Dems to consneed without a concession on the ACA then I am willing to bare that title forever for being a dumbass doomer.

Seriously, Democrats are retarded if they can't turn this into a win after everything.

Guys... I think we're gonna make it. :optimistic:

Rehiring the laid off workers and not being able to lay off more is an L in my book, along with having a vote on those worthless ACA subsidies. Republicans need to stop fucking cucking to the Democrats over this ahit

I would like to congratulate the Democratic Party for spending 40 days hurting their own constituents just so they can get a bill where the "compromises" the Republicans are making are things that could have only happened because of the shutdown. Bravo.
