What do you mean? I don't recall anything about that in the game.
There was absolutely nothing like that in the game. For whatever reason, Mitsoda decided to criticize the original game for how it portrayed the Malkavians and its implications regarding mental health, back when Hardsuit Labs was still in charge of developing Bloodlines 2. I'm not sure if there was ever a solitary individual who decided to get his information on mental health from a tabletop RPG or a videogame, but there we go.

FF7 isn't overrated it was quite the spectacle at the time but its been outdone by its own series. FF was one of those series on the cutting edge of tech for the time improving with every entry until 10. While I personally feel 10 should've taken the throne for that tier of presentation in jrpg games it's like saying twilight princess is better than OoT, its technically correct in some ways but only because its standing on the shoulders of what came before.

You can only experience something for the first time, once. So even with improvements it'll never have the same emotional impact when its such an iteration on a formula.

Companies putting AI-generated garbage in games should be a concern, and we should be worried. Activision aren't even hiding it and retards are still paying for it in full price. At that point, just generate the whole game with AI already.
Do we really need a dedicated room of team of texture artists to make hyper realistic wall textures or whatever?

If anything I’m hopeful that AI in game development will finally allow for team sizes and budgets to shrink in the AAA space, allowing for more competition up there. Sure hand crafting everything will probably always be better but there comes a point where it just isn’t economically possible. There are only so many consumers willing to pay so much money for games.

Prerendered backgrounds with 3d blobs moving on top of them were about as ‘cutting edge’ as its convoluted bs wall of text was a ‘story’ or screen swirlings every few seconds were ‘cinematic battles’.

I’m glad I was a kid back then, even Syphon Filter seemed like an action film.

I always adored tri-Ace, they make some of the most interesting japanese games
Those are the guys that made Resonance of Fate, right? Loved that game. Interesting battle system and a fantastic setting.

Anyways, my unpopular opinion: I have absolutely zero interest in GTA 6 now. The fucking thing is more of a meme than a an actual product now and it makes it feel even more soulless. I actually dread the days before it comes out because you know it's gonna be all over the internet for a while.

It just feels so... Cynical? Don't even know how to describe it, i'm just grossed out by what i believe GTA 6 represents today, don't even wanna touch it.

You're not alone. I replayed GTA V last year and it solidified my opinion that there's barely anything interesting in that game. I think Trevor is a likable scumbag and that's it. The map is terrible with an empty upper half, there's nothing surprising or memorable about the missions, the black playable black guy has no character. I don't expect any wonders from VI.

I just finished an old, forgotten game called Project Eden and it has things that stick with you. It has HUGE levels with lots of verticality, single player co-op (yep) gameplay mode where you switch between 4 characters in a puzzle/exploration TPS and an unorthodox aiming style (crosshair is movable within the boundaries of an invisible square in the middle of the screen).

I doubt I'll see anything of that kind in GTA VI. What I'll most likely see is current day crumbling America with lots of vertical videos, blacks, mainstream rap, drug use and bad, family friendly jokes. No innovation or freedom. They could give you jetpacks and grappling hooks and it would still be dull.

the black playable black guy has no character.
A character that only exists because some faggot said "We can't make a video game about two middle-aged white guys coming to terms with the past and how life has turned out! Shoehorn a nigger in there and give him nothing to do!"

Although I'm okay with emptier spots on the map. Not everything has to be metropolitan to be interesting.

Story and the character Customization are pretty Meh. Sephiroth boring as an antagonist. 7 is where Final Fantasy started to devolve into the party being bloated as hell gameplay wise because all the characters are functionally the same mechanically.

10 is straight trash the Sphere grid is on par with the random stat gains from 2 in terms of junk character building.

Being a "gamer" when you're over 30 is the most embarrassing shit ever for a man.
How does that scale with a "Sports Fan"

At least Gamers are actually playing something instead of sitting on their couch for 12 hours a day watching Niggers Fondle each other.

That sounds like a whataboutism. I'm saying this as someone who's finished more games than I care to admit.
I don't give a shit what it sounds like "You are a Man-Child if you play Video Games" is a hypocritical retard tier take from most people who have "Interests" that are much worse than Video Games in every way.

No shit. Remember that Star Wars movie that came out a while back? The meme was, don’t spoil it. My whole goal of survival is to experience and play GTA VI. After that, we go from there.

No, it wasn't. By the time it came out, the Playstation was already 3 years old, and untextured polygons with rigid body animation were yesterday's news. The whole graphical approach of FF7 was cutting edge in like 1993, maybe. The prerendered backgrounds looked good, and the FMV was impressive for the time, but it's not like it did anything radically different than what Rebel Assault II had done a couple years earlier. Resident Evil, which came out the previous year, did something similar, but had texture-mapped characters. This is what was cutting edge in 1997:

I have no hope for GTAVI after seeing Saints Row and (to a lesser extent) GTA V.

Not really. The original gamers were just as old, if not older. They just converted video games into something for kids, because it was great at keeping junior quiet. Just as with comics and animation, which were once for adults, were re-tooled for kids, because they were great at entertaining kids and keeping them sated.

While this will get a lot of hate, you aren't wrong. Especially with how games have just turned into slop across the board at this point. It makes making friends as an adult hard when a large portion of those in your age group still spend weekends rotting away playing trash and they consider that "hanging out".
