To Trump and the Republicans:

End the filibuster
Pass mandatory voter ID for all federal elections
Codify Trump's Executive Orders
Terminate the H1-B Visa Program in its entirety, they have 3 months to leave
Release any and all files on Epstein

These are all within the realm of being enacted within the next couple of weeks. These are good things for the country, it's what your base wants, it's what independents want, and is your best bet at keeping power in 2026 and 2028.
That's all good. But they would need to be spread out over the next year until the midterms. a slow drip. If this does happen all at once, the dems will just run on "what has maga done for you lately"?

edit: also, the voting public has the memory of a gold fish.

What I love is that no matter how they try to hid it all Indians have a factory reset button that gets trigger at some point. Dinesh Souza spent like 20 years working to be a color blind American but the second the threat the Indian Poop Throwing Festival Documentary was able to come out he completely broke much like Vivek and his bitterness towards the white girl that didn't date him in high school.

That's giving the ADL too much credit. The Thalmor are like the Stasi mixed with the Irgun and apocalyptic fundamentalism. They believe that the Altmer should return to their divine forms, as the elves were originally immortal spirits before the world was formed. They will destroy the world by destabilizing the Towers which bind the world together.

Their opposition to Talos (who isn't even from the original religion of the Nords, but rather a man who conquered Tamriel and then "ascended" to godhood, becoming the Ninth Divine among a group of widely worshipped Aedric deities) is due to the fact that they can not believe that a man can become a god. Men were born mortal, Mer (elves) were cursed by Lorkhan to be mortal to create the world. Talos is an ideological threat to the Thalmor and their Aldmeri Dominion, which must be suppressed.
Frankly I would love to sperg more about the Thalmor's aspiration to regain the godhood they had as Et'Ada/Ehlnofey even at the cost of destroying Mundus and how that lines up with (as well as where it differs) from the concept of tikkun olam or the drive to 'repair the broken world' (as interpreted by & providing the spiritual foundation for everything done by liberal Jews). Unfortunately this does not appear to be the place, as USPG2 is after all first & foremost a Captain Planet thread.

That's because they know they're going to retake the legislature in 2026.
Its unclear who will succeed in 2026 since we don't know the candidates [many will be replaced via primary like Thomas Massie].

I will say even if you think Democrats retake in 2026, it doesn't matter as much as 2028.

Who-ever wins 2028 gets to manage the 2030 census. California and other blue states lost seats in the 2020 census. If the Census is fair in 2030, Dems flatline hard going forward.

You must be Rand Paul posting on an alt. You bring shame to your dad.
Then what's your plan if you don't want to re-open the government? You think the RINOs are going to kill the filibuster? Lol, good fucking luck. Even Trump knows that isn't happening.

DOA: Republicans Reject Democrats' One-Year ACA Extension To End Shutdown

Senate Republicans on Friday rejected Democrats’ offer to scale back their shutdown demands to a one-year extension of expiring health care subsidies, prolonging a stalemate that has disrupted air travel and delayed food aid.

The Affordable Care Act subsidies have been at the center of the debate during the 38-day shutdown, the longest in US history. A senior Senate Republican aide ripped the proposal as dead on arrival.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer billed his offer as a “simple compromise” that could pass the chamber “within a few hours.”

“No we’re not going to do that,” Senator Steve Daines, a Montana Republican with close ties to leadership, said on Fox News. “Look, we’ve said open up the government.”

A White House official speaking on the condition of anonymity said Schumer’s offer shows Democrats are under pressure to make a deal. The official reiterated their position that Republicans would meet with Democrats on health-care tax credits once the government is open.

Trump meeting with Orban: “Europe made tremendous mistakes on immigration, Orban has not made a mistake on immigration.“
Hungary: In summer 2015, more than 390,000 asylum seekers, mostly Muslim, crossed the Serbian-Hungarian border and descended on the Keleti railway station in Budapest. For Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and his Fidesz party, the arrival of these asylum seekers was not a humanitarian issue but a Muslim invasion threatening the national security, social cohesion, and Christian identity of the Hungarian nation. In the four years since this episode, there have been a string of anti-immigrant actions and policies.
Perhaps the President of America would like to say something about whether America made mistakes on immigration.

At its most fair democracy, mathematically, dosent work, dont waste time trying to make sense of past results or anticipate future ones, its all a coin flip

Psst.

Thalmor beliefs are Gnostic in nature (material world bad and must be destroyed, return to god-being), as is Communism (capitalist world unjust and must be destroyed, return to Communist). There's your in.

that novel is one of the earliest products of 'intersectional' feminism
if you want to tell a story about muhsoginy, there's no shortage of real world examples of societies that treat women as something in between a slave and an animal - but they just so happen to all be brown. that is a problem, because feminists are anti white leftists, so the idea of criticizing browns to them is like sunlight to a vampire.
atwoods solution to this? just race-swap the villains from brown persians to white americans, and swap their religion from islam to (quasi)christianity. this way we can have our desired "man bad" whinefest of a book, without denigrating our precious browns or offending islam in the process!
and women love this way of thinking so much that the book still remains relevant today, 40 years after initial publication
The reason that women get all mad about the fictional world of the Handmaiden's Tale and don't give a fuck about Islam is because in the Handmaiden's Tale, some women are oppressed and forced to do stuff while other women aren't. In Islam, all women are equally oppressed. Women don't care about oppression, so long as no one has it better than someone else (specifically themselves.) In fact, the burka is exactly what women want, a great equalizer that covers up beauty and ugliness in equal measure.

Islam is a moon religion. It is feminine in nature.

Trump State Department orders global visa crackdown under revived ‘public charge’ rule

A State Department cable obtained by Fox News Digital directs U.S. embassies worldwide to enforce sweeping new visa screening rules under the so-called "public charge" provision of immigration law — a move that revives and expands a Trump-era standard officials say was relaxed under President Joe Biden.

The guidance instructs consular officers to deny visas to applicants deemed likely to rely on public benefits, weighing a wide range of factors including health, age, English proficiency, finances and even potential need for long-term medical care.

"Self-sufficiency has been a longstanding principle of U.S. immigration policy," the cable that went out to U.S. posts across the globe on Wednesday states, "and the public charge ground of inadmissibility has been a part of our immigration law for more than 100 years."

Any past use of government cash assistance or institutionalization could also be grounds for denial. "You must examine all aspects of the case," the guidance reads, "including the petition, visa application, medical report, affidavit of support, and any information uncovered in the course of screening and vetting."

Older visa applicants nearing retirement age are to face particular scrutiny, both for their job prospects and whether they can support themselves once they stop working. "Long-term institutionalization (e.g., at a nursing facility) can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars per year and should be considered," the memo notes.

The new guidance follows an executive order signed by President Donald Trump titled "Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders." The cable says the order seeks to ensure "that no taxpayer-funded benefits go to unqualified aliens."

"The public charge determination is ‘in the opinion of the consular officer,’" the cable reminds, placing the burden of proof entirely on the applicant. Officers are instructed to conduct a "comprehensive and thorough vetting" of each case and to assess "the totality of the applicant’s circumstances" before issuing any visa. "There is no ‘bright-line’ test," the cable adds. "You must consider all aspects of the case and determine whether the applicant’s circumstances… suggest that he is more likely than not to become a public charge at any time."

A State Department official told Fox News Digital, "For years, the American taxpayer was held hostage by the Biden administration’s disastrous open borders agenda… The Trump administration has brought an end to the era of mass immigration."

The State Department is responsible for deciding who receives visas abroad, while the Department of Homeland Security determines who is ultimately admitted to the United States and who may adjust status once inside the country. Although both agencies apply the same immigration law, the State Department’s guidance governs consular officers overseas, giving them broad discretion to deny visas on public charge grounds.

A 2022 version of the public charge rule under the Biden administration had limited the scope of benefits considered — primarily to cash assistance and long-term institutional care — excluding programs like SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, or housing vouchers. The Immigration and Nationality Act has long permitted consular officers to deem applicants inadmissible on public charge grounds, but Trump in 2019 expanded the definition to include a broader range of public benefits. That expansion was challenged in court, with portions ultimately blocked before being rescinded by the Biden administration.

The latest cable signals a return to that broader interpretation, instructing U.S. consular officials to "conduct a comprehensive and thorough vetting" of visa applicants and to verify all supporting financial documents.

Trump can send the national guard into 50 more cites and deport 100,000 illegals and it still wont make peoples bottom line any better.

All the money trump is spending on these dumb over the top "crack downs" need to go to MASSIVE public work projects that put tax payer dollars back into the hands of workers doing skilled labor to better their countrys infrastructure and community.

Tarrifs are a band aid to 40 years of being raped by the rest of the world on trade, its not nearly enough to fix the tens of millions below the poverty line.
