I will never understand why boomers are still throwing around "commie" as if anyone has perceived that as an insult for the last like thirty years. Yeah, boomers, they're commies. They call themselves commies. It doesn't hit them the way Nazi hits you. Please update your software

commie is fun to say
and I'm usually using it bitching about libs to other conservatives

Delinquencies in commercial real estate are getting incrementally bigger and bigger, people are outright refusing to keep paying, commercial real estate keeps accumulating due to business closures and sky-high vacancy rates even before the pandemic, a ton of spaces still remain comically overpriced despite being a sweatbox the size of a walk-in closet because landlords can't negotiate rents downward without owing the banks hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars to make up for the lack of expected rent, the list goes on and on.
The rents for commercial property are ridiculous all over and not just NYC. Landlords think they are entitled to exorbitant rents even if it means they squeeze out small businesses and leave only restaurants and mega-corps as the only viable tenants even when both such groups struggle with rents and an excess of space ever since COVID. It's worse for small businesses who want small spaces only to have landlords demanding disproportionate rents, too.

I'd find a certain Schadenfreude if the commercial real estate market collapsed to the point greedy landlords had to beg tenants to fill their vacancies for next to nothing just so they could have any sort of cash flow supporting the properties.

Of course, this will still not be enough and the knee will have to keep being bent, little by little by little.
I'm not what to think of a SNAP benefit matrix showing how much a household can get with a family size of 8 or more members. It gives credence to the idea that the government is enabling and encouraging low income households to squeeze out as many kids for the gibs, while discouraging anyone able to work in a large household from doing so. As much as the left would bounce and squeak over it, eligibility for; levels of; and duration of SNAP needs to be revisited for recipients who neither need nor deserve it indefinitely.

I still like how Half the US(tm) still expects full benefits ASAP when the reserve can't even sustain one month of prorated benefits and it'll take a minimal amount of time for the reserve money to flow through the system and be deposited in everyone's account. Nothing is ever too good for them, indeed.

Aaaaand, the official order granting the preliminary injunction which came down last night on the RIFs case (reductions in force, firings during the shutdown). Forty-seven bullshit pages about how scares and traumatized the union employees are, big bad Orange Man firing people for political retribution, arbitrary and capricious this, unjustifiable bias that, irreparable harm, blah dee fucking blah. I am forced to wonder who actually wrote this for the Clinton-appointed lady judge because listening to her in the hearings shows that he has no clue about any of this shit. In any event, here's the rundown of the actual injunction now in place:

She gave the government a whole week (how generous!) to file an accounting of all the RIFs, and a whole ten days for each defendant organization to file all-new declarations about how they are complying. Like keeping the entire federal government after class to write "I will not be mean to the unions" over and over on the blackboard.

Now, we wait and see if/when the admin will seek a stay from a higher court, as they have repeatedly hinted, quietly, in previous filings. Fingers crossed.

Hey, remember the RIFs? You know, the reductions in force, government employees getting fired before/during/because of the shutdown, until the massive behemoth of multiple unions came along and sued America? And the Clinton-appointed lady federal judge in California who got the case just literally went along with everything the unions told her to say at every junction of the case? And there was the repeatedly-modified temporary restraining order, and then the preliminary injunction, yadda yadda. Still ongoing!

Well, the other day, the Trump admin dutifully submitted fresh declarations from government agencies as ordered relating to the number of RIFs they ever contemplated even when they were on the john when nobody was looking.

There were multiple exhibits from some (not all) federal departments attached, and they're all different, some with charts and some just with numbers, and nobody cares. The one from Interior did have some interesting language, kind of a "Fuck you, work product" tone it seems...

So, entirely predictably, the unions are pitching an utter shitfit and claiming that the admin is still lying and refusing to give the real deets on the RIFs, planned or not, and have demanded a new hearing immediately.

Link to the CourtListener docket, such as it is. I look forward to watching the next Zoom hearing where the elderly judge will again pretend to know what the fuck she's talking about and conclude with "I'm ordering everything [the union lawyer] says" AGAIN.

The Jewish lobby’s knives coming out early for Vance re: The Heritage spat and the attempts by neocons to wrest back control from MAGA
Those idiots thought it was a smart idea to illegally pressure an employee to attend a religious ceremony and then publicly try to cancel him for “antisemitism” after he politely declined. It’s a massive example of the Streisand Effect and they’re unironically the “woke right” that they accusing MAGA people of being. They’re literally using the exact same playbook the BLM and Pride did.

I can't believe I have to say this shit again, but doomers are still faggots and everybody needs to calm the fuck down. It wasn't a winning night, and I'm not happy about it (I live in one of those fucking states for Christ's sake), but you mother fuckers mistake every battle for the war.

Dems took easy wins and almost certainly cheated to do it. That is the avenue that must be addressed. The GOP needs to use the nuclear option and start passing voter ID laws nationally. Arrests need to be made. I'm also a little fed up with Trump focusing on foreign nations right now, but I'm unsure what else he's supposed to fucking do while the legislature is busy proving why Republics always fail.

This past year has been a string of great victories for the right. It isn't all going to happen at once. The infighting on the right is, in my opinion, a good thing. You need Thesis and Antithesis to end up at Synthesis, and this ongoing fight will move the party rightward, not the other way around.

Everybody relax, work on the things you can work on, and just enjoy the show.

I would like to point out the judge does have the power to force the allocation of part of the funds, as said emergency funds are appropriated by congress and therefore should go out by law even with a shutdown, the issue here is that he has overstepped his boundaries by calling for the full allocation of funds.
The emergency funds for SNAP does not have enough to cover for full funds for a month so by ruling that funds be covered that do not exist and have not been appropriated by congress in advance is an overreach of the judiciary's powers as they do not have the powers to appropriate funds that are not available, they only have the power to force the funds that are appropriated (which in this case would be the roughly 5 billion dollars of emergency funds).
If the ruling stays and the full amount has to be paid above the 5 billion dollars then it is in direct violation of the antideficiency act which states that no federal agency has the powers to fund programs outside of the amount appropriated by congress.

If the judiciary can overrule the legislative powers given by the constitution then what is the point of the legislative branch. These judges are to stupid to realize that if this stuff goes through they have given the president the power of the purse.
Don’t give me this level of hopium.

The judiciary can do whatever they want. Apparently the president can't use powers granted to him by Congress to adjust tariffs but the executive can shuffle around money earmarked for other departments and programs.

If republican judges dont remember all of this the next time dems are in power im gona lose my mind.

Next dem pres better not be able to take a shit without a judge jumping down his throat.
