Some of the older, less-horny types do this a little on text-heavy social media. They post like they're a wise, stable elder giving advice to the young, but when they eventually show pictures it's moobs, printed T-shirt and faded dye job again.

I think the career-havers tend more matronly, unless they go full slutty miniskirt and nuke their job. Biden's troon doctor kept it frumpy.

Once you start noticing that all troons aim for teenhood, you'll realize their idea of what a woman is, is a girl. A teenage girl in sneakers/pumps, skirt/stockings, goth or borderline juvenile. I am quite sure there is a subset of troons who want to become figures of authority - throughout the threads are some rare examples who look like they skinwalk their teachers from 90's, power suit bosses or their own grandma.

I'm a few pages late, but neither Lemon Demon nor Mindless Self Indulgence are tranny/gay coded. I have no idea what the left two bands are.

Lemon Demon is autistic geek rock. A lot of it is unpleasant to listen to because Neil sucks ass at singing and his puns were somehow both abstract and hamfisted, but every now and then he had actually put out a catchy tune.

Mindless Self Indulgence is for teenage edgelords, simple as. In today's day and age, that may be synonymous with "trannies", but when I was in high school the kids that were talking about MSI looked like the Skids from Letterkenny. Hot Topic shoppers, basically.

I'm racking my brain for music that's tranny coded and I honestly don't know. I know one in real life and he listens to typical male-coded music, like Primus or Tool or whatever. Gays love pop divas like Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, but trannies generally like whatever music they enjoyed before transitioning.

This leaves it open for a band being a warning sign, though.

I do think there are bands, or at least songs, that trans get into when other people in their circles are into them. They're in an online subculture, after all; it just takes a few people to discover a band and post about it, especially if they effortpost about how X song and Y song are "trans-coded." And a lot of trans seem to feel like they're obligated to support trans musicians, or at least say they do.

Lived experience: in the first Great Poonout, FtMs really liked "Little Lion Man" by Mumford and Sons. At least they used quotes to title angsty blogposts.

In all fairness, when I first heard 100 gecs, I was hearing Mindless Self Indulgence with even less fake guitar, fronted by a tranny. The singer's status as a transwoman is the only reason people paid them any mind because the whole manic randumb MSI G.I.R. humor died back in the 2000's. So that comparison between the two groups coupled with MSI's lyrics being unfiltered selfish debauchery, and I could see trannies enjoying it.

I will die on the hill that Lemon Demon ain't tranny music. Lemon Demon's old school SomethingAwful, pre-/pol/ 4chan, pre-HTML5 Newgrounds.
 
I've heard of all of those. They're bands popular among internet culture that tumblr pooners latched on to when they saw them in AMVs and edits and stuff. Lemon Demon and Jack Stauber especially are a very unique and autistic type of music each in their own way. I actually like some songs from all 4 of those and I can see how it might attract other autists which includes pooners. But to say they're "for pooners" is stupid because they have no claim of ownership over any of them. MSI and Mother Mother especially came long before the modern trans trend.

Bit late but whenever you point out the obvious of why do you feel so bound by gender expectations you know gender non-conforming people exist they just turn it around to "I feel dysphoria about my physical body nothing to do with gender stereotypes, my breasts/penis/broad shoulders give me so much dysphoria I'm distressed." Meanwhile elsewhere they will argue "I knew I was always a girl because I wanted long hair and to play with Barbies" or the pooner equivalent. The arguments shift to suit their needs.

I've noticed that, and it's really dumb. On the one hand, they insist that they don't actually need any surgeries or anything to transition, so obviously, their bodies aren't the cause of their dysphoria. I'm not saying that no trans creeper has body dysphoria (I don't think it should be treated with hormones and knives), but most of the ones I've run into clearly don't have it. Within their own circles, it's always the equivalent of knowing they're the opposite sex because they don't resonate with the stereotypes of their own.

yes, I always feel like they're heaving exaggerating for sympathy or it's like a culture bound syndrome (? not sure what the right term is but if your friends on Discord tell you you should have "dysphoria" over your body you will start to feel it.) Stories get posted of this all of the time here of middle aged men who have been having sex and masturbating most of their life happily but we are supposed to believe they suddenly have some crippling dysphoria over their penis at 45 arising out of having a magic female brain.

Not in sense of the internet "dommy mommy" but my understanding is that a lot of troons actually skinwalk like their mom or someone like an older teacher lady from their childhood. I think this was more popular pre-Internet (as you suggest most popular imitation for troons seems to be egirls or young anime characters these days.) But it's one reason why you will find a lot of troons with old lady names like Gertrude. My husband took a gender and sexuality class back in the 90's where you could actually discuss these things and the mother skinwalking troon was a point of reference for the sexologist teacher. The point was that they don't dress like actual women their age do (which we still see even with modern troons wanting to dress like anime characters. Misha from Death Note is a common troon obsession and she is a blonde goth fantasy girl designed to appeal to teenage boys. Hm.)

Ah, you're right. Modern troons are overwhelmingly younger men with autogynephilia, it's easy to forget the 80s/90s serial killer type of troon born from mommy issues on top of porn addiction.

The movie Victim (2010) is about a man who rapes and kills a surgeon's daughter so the surgeon turns him into a "replacement daughter". I think it is important to archive this because this is the only movie I can think of that shows SRS as nightmare inducing torture. I must warn you, the film is dogshit. It has all the vibes of a bootleg torture porn flick that leaned heavily into the plot and forgot the sex part.
