Is she just so busy being totally evil every day that nobody is attracted to her?
To quote from the wiki: "Vivziepop hearkens Stella's character to the character of BoJack Horseman's mother because they are very similar in that regard" which was from an interview on the channel The Joe Vulpis podcast.

So we can rest assured there will be a suitably bleak backstory that will solve none of the actual narrative problems for Stella. Also, and maybe this is just me being a dumb autist, but wouldn't it be "likens", not "hearkens"?

Briefly watching the interview, its mostly just Viv rambling and giving away vague hints that will apparently be added "at some point". It half feels like her just making shit up as she goes along. "What, Stella totally should have more depth, ya' know. It just won't happen soon, but it will! It's like... ummm... Bojack Horseman's mom. Totally! This is definitely something we've developed and not just a desperate throw."

You are correct. "Liken" would be comparing the two characters to each other, which I assume is what Vivzi did.

"Harken" is when you draw attention to or recall something, so when you "harken back" to something you're making reference to or staying true to the spirit of something from the past. You harken in the work itself, not in descriptions of it.

It can technically work here, but the word comes off as out of place and grammatically incorrect.

Going back to something I and a few other people here called, the Cherri and Pentious subplot in the third episode is barely one, there's a single scene that mainly serves to lead up to the next one, and the scene of real substance is just Cherri learning from Baxter about Pentious' backstory with him (They were partners until Pentious decided to leave and take the eggs with him because he didn't like the experiments Baxter was running on them, who created them in the first place.), then the song happens, and we don't see Cherri again until the very end where she tells Angel she's staying at the hotel, we learn nothing about Cherri as a character, or even anything else about their rivalry outside the song.

Just watched latest eps.

Holy fuck.

Every once in a while watching this show I have a moment of "Hey this is pretty good." Then it all comes crashing down an episode or song later. The impact and ANY dramatic tension is snuffed out by the shitty world-building and by-the-seat-of-your-pants writing.

Charlie is the most unlikable MC ever. The show is unwatchable when she's on screen.

HH is written like the writers room does free-form RP with no edits. All the characters are on the same power level unless they're background red shirts. It is made with already existing fans in mind. It is nauseatingly palpable.

I WANT TO LIKE THE SHOW. WHY DOES IT SUCK SO MUCH.

Animation is pretty damn good. Entire budget must have gone into the fight scene in ep 4. Good job to Bento Box. Again, colors are more pleasant than S01.

But that's bullshit. That's nonsense. In any remotely realistic world, Stella would have courtiers galore.

Found this while reading all the comments after Charlie fucks up while being interviewed.

Those fanfic comparisons really got under her skin.

Honestly, what are you niggas talking about pacing? Straight up this is the WORST pacing. Worst then the last season. There is no silence, no time for a character just to pause and react to something. Its always

Talking
Screaming
Swearing
Dickjoke
Or SINGING

I can feel nothing for these charcters as I do not know even how these charcters think, react, or take action that isn't exposition from another character.

We have no focal point, no time to really get into a characters head. As we should be focusing on Charlie and have more intimate knowledge as she IS the protagonist. Yet we know NOTHING of her and her headspace instead we focus on the gay rapist, or the gay spider, or the gay deer, or the gay TV.

There has been no action of redemption other than AngelDust SAYING he LIKES therapy. Have we seen Charlie actually know how to DO THERAPY? No she just does camp councilor activities where you clap your hands and do trust falls. Is she even capable of being a therapist? FUCK NO. Does she have a degree in it? No. Is there even a higher education system in hell? IDK.

Just told, no show.

I was about to say the pacing last season was better but thought I was crazy.

Charlie got a lobotomy between the pilot and the show. RIP pilot Charlie, who was naive but not an idiot.

The MC should be the focus of a show. Charlie isn't, anymore.

Twitter is blowing up over the scenes with Alastor in Vox and Val's bedroom, with some going "Haha, stinky deer deserves it coz he hurt Vox's feelings!" and mist flipping out over the sexual assault aspect .

Alastor died in the 30s. Doubtless he's run across people having sex in Hell before now ( shit, he might have turned the wrong corner and seen guys going at it when alive). I don't think Vox intended to assault /harass Alastor by having him bedside while he and Val fucked, but to rub Alastor's nose in it: "See what you missed out on, loser?!"

Alastor doesn't give a shit because he's not interested in Vox and never has been. And Vox, narcissistic egomaniac that he is, can't accept that.

>Katie reveals that the Exterminations have only been going on for seven years
Exterminations only happened for SEVEN YEARS?!? This is retarded. Do we have unreliable "narration" here??
>Niffty and Husk come to help him, get their asses kicked
I have to see SHIT-ffty get her ass kicked!
After watching episode 4, it’s pretty damn obvious that Rosie is Lilith…😒
Yay, Rosie is Lilitroon! Adam was married to a cannibal I guess, which makes sense with the thing about "demoness" idea. So Eve was taken over by the Evil entity thing.
What probably means that Charlie has the "Good" entity inside her unless a new character drops in.
It's gonna be fun to see how that British queer who makes three-hour reactions to each episode is going to react to that.
He's absolutely despised Sera since her introduction, claiming she's been allowing this for thousands of years. The fact that it's been going on for less than a decade and coincided with Lilith moving to Heaven makes her a lot more justified.
Seeing faggots get angry and seethe (as well as cope, dilate and etc) is always a schadenfreude to me.
If this has only been going on for seven years, why was it part of that children's storybook opening "The Story of Hell" that Charlie was reading to herself in episode 1 that implied it had been going on for ages? What was the point of that whole sequence (aside from bad exposition)? Why would Charlie ever think that the extermination was about curbing overpopulation if it only started within the last decade? And most importantly of all: Doesn't this contradict Lute's statement that an Exorcist being killed isn't something that's happened in over 2000 years?
They'll probably say that "Oh, that was some false information I had, from an unreliable source".
Just seems odd that the character known for loving sex and drugs wasn't sent to Hell for loving sex and drugs.

For fuck's sake, even Futurama understands that all of your sins are judged in Hell.

Better than any song in Trashbin Homo.
Another thing I don't believe. Why does a chick as hot as Stella not have a boyfriend?

What the fuck? Is she just so busy being totally evil every day that nobody is attracted to her?

She's literally one of the most attractive characters in the show, and somehow, does nothing but evil.
Maybe is to show that everyone in hell is a "super queer" or something. Something something Stella deserves to be in Heaven instead?

I think with the pacing in Season 2 compared to like Season 1 of HH and Season 2 of HB is that it feels more focused

Season 1 spent more time dicking around within its first four episodes focusing more on introducing as many characters as possible and random side plots rather than a clear focus on the main plot until the last 4 episodes, which even then were rushed by an offscreen timeskip where everyone suddenly became best friends.

So far Season 2 feels more focused as there is clear focus on some plotlines than randomly throwing new shit at you than not paying it off with even the new characters clearly serving a purpose. Hell it utilizes the songs more as aside from Nifty's song most of the songs do a decent job at moving the plot and establishing character motives/information which is what the songs in a musical function as. As to whether the songs are good or not is up to personal taste.

I now realize the real reason why Viv was so pissed that a ton of comparisons will be made between Vox and Trump, because not only is Vox definitely going to survive this season, but is easily the most sympathetic villain of either show, also willing to bet his cult leader backstory will probably be more subdued and less 'bad' than the popular ones like Heaven's Gate and Jonestown that ended in mass suicides/murder.

It also seems in his idiotic plan he might actually reddeem himself by accident actually if you seen the flashback,
