Now, news is going to be boring for the next few weeks, and the thread is going to devolve down into petty slap fighting.

The election results were not a colossal defeat or a Pyrrhic victory. For governor elections, this was fairly typical when considering the historical trends. I would just recommend being patient about this. The blue states will stay blue, and the red states will likely remain red. The only election that actually matters are the midterms, and it will be a while before that starts.

History and politics usually do not change on a dime. When it does, however, bad things ensue. As always, patience and prudence are the qualities of the victors.

yeah
we can browse the thread without dying of the self-flagillating doomer cringe
Its because most political junkies don't have a lot going on in life. A portion are married with kids but lets not pretend this forum is a hive of nuclear families. I actually feel bad for the doomers. Says more about them than about the country.

Put a wall around NYC, let them live with their consequences for a few years. That'll straighten them out. Otherwise the people that voted for this shit are just gonna move to other safer cities once the city fully goes to shit and do the same thing again and again like they always do.
Well, the guy who won is a communist, so he's most likely to put up a wall around the the 5 boroughs himself, so he can keep the 1% who put in 50% of the tax revenue for that city from fleeing.

"we're worse than dickless men, retarded shitskins and women"
"we deserve to be humiliated by trannies"

these niggers have a fetish and they're acting it out on here
why do you think fatpacks put on the burger suit after he lost?

It is a sign that the GOP has been neglecting domestic issues, to their detriment. Luckily, we have time to course correct before the midterms.

I am very disappointed in how many of you took the demoralization bait from Fatpacks. Dozens of posts that were essentially slightly different variations of "it's over, just give up" and so many of you responded to him in earnest or even agreed with him. He didn't even have to try this time.

all purple dates
all cringe
I still think with fatpacks it’s all a bit
i wish i could cope like this

There’s been talk of funny business with Christie for years.

An Essex County Sicilian, Chris Christie could count the Genovese crime family in his kin, via his aunt who married to Tino “The Greek” Fiumara, former head of the family.

He was the US attorney between 2002-2008, appointed by George W Bush, despite never having practiced law in a federal courtroom and barely having any experience in criminal law at baseline.

During this time he successfully prosecuted 130 cases against corrupt state and local officials from both parties, even reportedly surprising the Bush administration with the targets he went after.
He pioneered the use of DPAs (deferred prosecution agreements) to squeeze lawbreaking corporations into cutting checks for political allies.

Oddly, the famous South Jersey Democrat political kingmaker George Norcross kept his sword in its scabbard during Christie’s tenure. (You may remember Norcross from a funny incident wherein the Philadelphia Inquirer was running a multipart exposé on the man, when its owner died suddenly in a private plane crash and the paper immediately became a toothless shitlib rag.) It’s been implied that they reached some kind of agreement that kept the democrats at bay when he ran for reelection, based on how little support Barbara Buono got from her party when she tried to unseat him in 2013.
TLDR
Nothing about that fat loser makes sense without corruption in play. The Democrat boss of the state was probably in bed with him at the time.
Great overview. I remember seeing an article earlier this year about Norcross getting popped for racketeering but now that I look him up I see that the charges were dropped and he's suing law enforcement and journalists over it so I shouldn't have let myself get optimistic.

Definitely and it shows that:

1. Trump voters are not a given. Many of those outside the MAGA core gave Mandami a chance.
2. Young voters are not a given. Independent young men stayed home but the lib females all turned out.
3. Democrat political games are guaranteed (no duh), and they are still smarter than they look.
4. Not cutting down on H1B is a losing game (weak economy or not), and the stock market is not the real economy.
5. MIGA/MUGA is not a winning solution no matter how much horse trading is done with the NeoCons.
6. Kirk's loss is still felt, especially considering the fact that most State Republicans are still losers who don't understand that the voting game has changed and you can't make it all up on Election Day. Republicans can't cry about off-year elections because the Democrats have already figured it out.
7. States can be permanently lost- Virginia likely will be the next in line. As such, bragging about spending less or coping about off-year elections is a fool's errand.
8. People want results. Fire Bondi, ignore the judges, and purge Washington- time's a ticking.

I would say the Trump honeymoon is officially with a sobering new reality- the battle was won but the war is still raging.

A lot of people left when covid happened, I imagine that the soft on crime, heavy on taxes bullshit will drive out even more.
Yeah the morning news is playing it up a lot
As we all knew they would, just like we all knew that these elections were probably going to go down as "upset" wins for them, even though the writing was on the wall the entire time.
It seems to me that Republicans will come out and vote for the big ones, and neglect smaller elections. Even with people having nazi tattoos and saying they want to kill Republican children, it doesn't matter to these people.
We've already picked our teams and we're going to ride this thing until the wheels fall off. The best we can hope for is a Biden/Harris situation that makes them sit home in disgust.

Unfortunately the man in power doesn't have to course correct for 2026. He can't be elected again so I don't really think he cares whether or not a lot of shit gets done. Everything that he's going to do until 2028 is going to be to spite the Democrats, just like the Democrats are doing to him with keeping the government closed.
Why do you think he's telling them to get rid of the filibuster? He doesn't give a fuck that it's a safeguard for the senate, he's trying to get in as much shit as he can, as fast as he can, while he still can.
