Where the con-drama at 🤔

BLFC Dress-Code Update:
1759777734641.png
October 4, 2025 - For immediate release

Greetings,

In light of the violent incident at the GSR that occurred on July 28th 2025, we are making a last-minute change to our attendance policies to enhance safety. We apologize for this being
such a last-minute change, and we always strive to not make such changes- This year, unfortunately, is an exception.

You may not wear a costume that can be mistaken, at a distance, for modern law enforcement, military, or paramilitary, such as "tactical gear." Historical items not used within the last 30 years are still permitted, and this 30-year timeframe defines 'modern' for this rule. Any questions about what is and is not permitted, please contact con ops for guidance. You may be asked to remove some elements to make the costume no longer mistakable for the above.

We apologize for the last-minute nature of this change, and if this change affects your decision to attend, we do, as always, have a no-questions-asked refund policy Go to your order history at https://reg.goblfc.org/account/orders, click the triple-dot icon on your order, and select "request refund."

Thank you for your understanding.

Obviously, the (last-minute) announcement has stirred up the usual controversy of mil-sup furry outfits. I suppose most humorously is the "30 year" limit they've put on the uniforms... guess Operation Desert Storm is a-OK per the rules.

Subculture that promotes dressing up and expressing oneself calls other costumes a 'red-flag'

"If we keep 'certain d-bags' from dressing up in an identifiable way, it'll be harder for them to sneak in" :story:

Not sure the universe Kibbles is living in where conventions are bending over backwards to allow milfurs when most cons are clamping down on it, in part due to the Bomb Voyage 'incidents'.
1759778187236.png
"Damn these loopholers following the rules!" and the classic "I'm not going to attend this year but here's my 2 cents for what it's worth (nothing)"

Just cosplay as Marvin the Martian.

So how many more rapes and molestations will it take before Furcons ban "Fetish Gear" at Conventions?

It would appear that WPAFW has doubled down on their decision to make HearthFox the guest of honor.
Since WPAFW concluded this weekend, I would like to make a partial retraction to this statement. This will also be the final post I intend to make on the subject.

Someone on the event’s staff privately reached out to me off-site and confirmed that although Hearth was still listed as the featured artist, they were not actually present in any way, shape, or form at the event itself. Before the convention, I also reached out privately to three furries who I knew would be attending and asked them to let me know if this was true. All three have just gotten back to me and confirmed that Hearth was not there. They also said there were no scheduled events featuring Hearth, and that Hearth was not mentioned in the opening or closing ceremonies. However, the convention badges still feature Hearth’s art, and the custom badges people paid for were still printed and delivered. In addition, I could not find any posts on Twitter, Bluesky, or Instagram from the event that provide any evidence of Hearth’s presence.

I assume that since WPAFW had most likely already produced and printed all of the art Hearth made for the event, they were in a position where they couldn’t reasonably reprint it less than three weeks before the convention, especially after Hearth publicly embarrassed the event by declaring an intention to profit from Charlie Kirk’s death mere hours after it happened. The most likely explanation is that they kept the materials but told Hearth they were not welcome to attend. Hearth’s Bluesky account this weekend also unceremoniously unpinned the post announcing their guest of honor status, and their username no longer mentions WPAFW.

As for the event itself, it seems that despite the drama, they reached their attendance cap and set a new record for charity donations, so props to them for that at least. Meanwhile, Hearth managed to all but destroy any chance of another convention ever considering putting them front and center again. All in all, I think that’s one of the better outcomes that could have come out of this situation.

EDIT: For some bizarre reason, FurryTMZ is trying to mooch off of my post for attention. I'm personally very offended that they used light mode.

Friendly reminder that FurryTMZ is run by Casey Morris Hoerth, also known as Len Gilbert, FurryRespector, AltFurryDiscord, FurRightDiscord, and probably like 50 other names I'm not bothering to remember. If you or any of your friends follow FurryTMZ, I would encourage you to distance yourself ASAP, as you are supporting a known Neo-Nazi.

hearthfox is a martyr for retarded pornsick furries, having them headline an event is a risk anyone who operates a convention should know

Furries hate all kinds of shit because hatred is a normal emotion.
To be precise, Furries are incredibly Jealous people, and that Jealousy leads to Hatred in an attempt to boost their fragile egos. Why else do they go to expensive yard sales (conventions) and spend thousands of dollars on suits? Ego-stroking, thinking they are better than others.

Pawsome, the UK furry convention that doesn’t attempt to conceal being a fetish convention, unexpectedly announced the death of director Alistair Maclean-Morris / Pup Neutron at the age of 27.

Neutron was a relative newcomer to furry via his extensive involvement in the Manchester pup and fetish scene, the source of several of Pawsome’s staff members. His cause of death hasn’t been released, but he was in poor health and into breathplay so there’s plenty of material for speculation.

Anthro New England is still requiring masks in major con areas. I find this to be crazy since no other major furry conventions I'm aware of have similar policies still in effect.

Late, but man this one is genuinely wild. This is crazy for a convention of any kind to still be requiring, wow.

The people still wearing N-95 masks in 2025 are like the modern equivalent of those Japanese soldiers who didn't surrender WW2 until the seventies.

The people that run it are every 2010's SJW stereotype all rolled into a single couple. They are in a "Queer"(straight) relationship. Everything they do is fighting a systemic -ism. Ace but kink friendly the list goes on.
