Speaker Mike Johnson gave a good reason as to why that wasn't going to happen. Sure Congress can vote to amend the constitution, but you also need (I think at least) 3/4ths of the Union to ratify it within their own houses (both chambers presumably). And that's not including the other processes like say the Constitutional Convention (Federal or State).

This would take about 10 years to do, according to Johnson.

Heres an older (2013) documentary called "Hunting the Nightmare Bacteria" which not surprisingly features some idiot white dude that went to India, got an open wound and then contracted a nightmare gram-negative bacteria that almost killed him. I think he lost his leg, they had to use the most powerful antibiotics on him (which destroys organs so he likely has permeant damage to his liver) and oh... best part... the bacteria could still be alive in him at this very moment and could start attacking and killing him again without warning at anytime for the rest of his life.

I understand that's annoying, but it should be a massive consensus for this undertaking. If Congress tried to amend the 1st and 2nd amendment for example, there should be significant hurdles, for example.
Plus, as much as people may want Trump to go for a 3rd term, that means other Presidents afterward (that you will inevitably not like), will enjoy this privilege, too.

Hell, even something a simple as removing a parliamentary procedure (the 60 vote threshold on certain votes in the Senate) has a lot of apprehension, and they have to go through just their own chamber for that, I believe.
