Are they talking partially about tariffs here? "Customs receipts".

It looks to me like she literally wants to reroute money from the child nutrition programs to make sure obese chimps can still buy their Skittles and sweet tea. This is the document she refers to (archive) that was in Defendants' opposition to the TRO (which it looks like I failed to share here when it went up, please see attached with my apologies, it was two whole days ago). But more importantly, look at this chart from that doc:
usda.png

"Much of this funding is appropriated for the Child Nutrition Program" indeed. As in, nearly all of it, over $23 billion. I don't fully know what I'm talking about here, but fuck if it doesn't look like "Just take the money from the kids' lunch programs and give it to people who will spend it all on chocolate."

could a higher court rule that the ermergency funds cannot be used and so November will go unpaid, but uphold the reduction in SNAP spending which is binding for all future payments?

A higher court could rule almost any damn thing it wants, but we would have to petition them first. 🤷‍♂️ If I happen to see that happen, I'll share.

Happy Halloween everybody, let’s pointlessly argue over something that doesn’t matter.
What is the best candy
And what is the worst candy.

Department of war issuing NOTAMs in PR until mar. 31 2026 airspace is now national defense airspace. violating aircraft will be intercepted and if determined hostile the DOW is authorized to use deadly force.

The filabuster nuking is running into roadblocks. Can't say im surprised or am even disappointed. Backfired on the Democrats last time they did it.
The filibuster is such a catch-22. It's saved the country from a lot of democrat nonsense, but then times like now it's a big PITA. Neither party really wants to give it up because eventually they know they'll benefit from it down the road. It's one of those weird policies/traditions that's hard for me to know if is overall good or bad.

Chocolate truffles best because there's a nice variety of flavors and the texture of high quality ones is great, rich enough to satisfy with a small amount.
If chocolate truffles don't count I'm going with sour cherry candy.
Worst is circus peanuts. Terrible texture, terrible taste. Worthless.

They could nuke it for 3.9 years and reinstate it just before the elections, which means it should probably never be touched.

Again, unless you utterly obliterate the dems from taking power again, its not worth getting rid of. Its a good thing overall.

Why do I get the feeling that the SNAP lawsuit isn't going to amount to anything?
If that turns out to be the case, I'll reiterate my prior question as to just how much the song and dance cost in terms of wasted time, attorney's fees, court resources, etc. that could've been better spent just bolstering each state's food banks.

Walmart is saying a can of Cambells Chicken Noodle Soup is 1.24 a can. If we use that as a mesuremeant, a multi thousand dollar lawsuit funded by your tax dollars could buy... A fuck ton of cans that could go to food banks.
