Metro louisville is horrible, most of the other places have pros and cons. Once you get 30-45 minutes away from the river you are generally in a real good area. Lexington and Bowling Green (Lexington is UK, Bowling Green is WKU) are even decent for college towns. Versailles (where that house was) is one of the prettiest places in kentucky, it's about 45 minutes outside of lexington.

Now i'm more a rural type guy, and it's God's country out here.. and well. i'm not going to dox myself, but i will give the demographics of a town a few towns away from me (mine is closer to 95 percent white)

Appalachia gets a bad rap because poor Scots-Irish, but the mountains are gorgeous regardless of where you are and any American who hasn't visited somewhere in the range absolutely should. Even if it's just Gatlinburg, TN. New Englanders think they're pretty in Autumn, and they're not wrong, but the mountains are better. Even the methnostate parts, bless their Pennsylvanian hearts.
