Actually I don't believe Kayla has any idea how much they spend on food per month and she's just pulling numbers out of her ass there. Tracking and categorizing your expenses is budgeting 101 and the very first step you take towards becoming financially responsible, Kayla would never. She's definitely one of those types that is just shocked repeatedly every two weeks by her emptied bank account.

I think Beth has probably stopped telling Kayla financial information because she’s aware that it isn’t going to do anything.
She’s not contributing to the household in any meaningful way, outside of watching the crotch goblin, who at 4 months old will be sleeping anywhere from 12-16 hours a day.
