My favorite part of that latest series of tantrums was when anon asked her if she even liked her kid or got any joy from interacting with her. it’s almost as if she’s lying and/or over exaggerating her “disability” for personal gain (like Beth not asking her to get a job even though they’re living paycheck to paycheck with an infant) and she knows she won’t qualify because she absolutely can work, she just doesn’t want it.


If she spent as much time looking for a stay at home call center job (which she can absolutely do with a fussy baby), as she did complaining the gubment won’t give her money, she would’ve been employed months ago.

This is gonna piss people off, but if Kayla had legitimate mental diagnoses (like that weird, autism-esque genetic disorder?), she could actually probably get SSI... after several years, because that's how the process works. But if she can show an extended period of time of no employment, a pattern of being unable to maintain employment, and prolonged engagement with treatment (i.e. therapy) with little-to-no discernible improvement in symptoms, and is able to link this to a legitimate mental health diagnosis, she would likely get it, as long as she were willing to jump through the hoops. (These hoops include having the initial application denied and hiring a lawyer on contingency for the appeal, because this is what literally everyone has to do.) This doesn't take into account whatever it is that allegedly causes her to use a walker, which I think is probably just BS, lol.

I find it interesting that Beth is now suggesting it (also I think marriage also causes issues in terms of getting disability benefits but I'm not sure). But it's been suggested several times to Kayla by different people, and she always gives the same defeatist excuse. Her attitude is that it's futile, so why bother, when the reality is that it's arduous, but not futile if you're willing to put the effort in and get the right people involved. The US taxpayer is fortunate in this regard (that Kayla is allergic to effort, especially effort that might humble her), but I can see Beth getting real tired of her shit, especially if Kayla keeps meeting the suggestion with hostility.

Well that's the kicker, isn't it? Since it's an involved process that takes a little time and thus doesn't produce immediate benefits, Kayla outright refuses to try. Because it won't help her right this second, fuck ANY positives that would come of it even though it would make things ever so slightly better in the near future.

Every update baffles me a little more with how desperate her situation apparently is but the complete and utter refusal to make it easier. She refuses to get a job because it apparently won't benefit her, only her child (is this seriously not a good enough reason by itself?). She won't get SSDI because she has to make an effort to do it. She won't use more local food banks because it has to fit Beth's dietary restrictions - even though she doesn't have the same food issues, and I guess Beth can't buy her own meal ingredients to suit herself.

She'd rather be dead and leave behind the baby she wanted but refuses to provide for and saddle Beth with the life of a single parent with a handful of pets. All because she doesn't get gold star stickers for her stagnant existence.

Granted, she's been saying she and Beth would rely on "programs" for money since before the baby was born, so I shouldn't be surprised. Alas, if Kayla had a nickel for every time she's posted something mind-bogglingly entitled, she'd have enough money to feed herself and Beth and Babysheep for a decade (and still find something to whine about).

The tag "disordered eating" is an interesting choice, as if Kayla skipping meals is some super-personal sign of her having a terrible relationship with food and would trigger readers struggling with EDs. (This is the only post in the batch tagged with "disordered eating" even though others have weight/starvation talk, so I doubt it is meant as a trigger warning/blacklist tag.) As if she's not experiencing... garden variety food insecurity. I'm not going to pretend that's an easy time, but she should be making her food stretch. Like, that is the bare minimum version of the right course of action. What a fishing-for-asspats tag though - like she's hoping to get an anon like "nooo, you should eat what you want whenever you want, and if you don't do that while your family is food-insecure you must be doing a disordered eating! you poor thing."

I had a friend whose mom would make "shark fin soup" every so often when they were growing up, named for the triangular chips their mom would stick into beans or potatoes or whatever leftover they had around (like a shark fin sticking up from the waves). She would take a little bite of the chips, to really give it that 'beat up shark fin' look. As he got older, my friend realized those bites were probably all she ate those nights.

A kid still might suspect something is wrong in a situation like that, but if you keep your head up and distract them, it'll be a lot easier on them. This is foreign to Kayla though. Why would she want someone to rely on her? It's always gotta be the other way around!

They've made a habit out of asking for thousands of dollars from family and friends each year. Just last year in November Beth had a fundraiser begging for $3,500 for vet bill debt.

Speaking of the vet debt, Kayla and Beth took Clyde, their elderly dog, to get euthanized on the 25th. In the mere two years that Beth and Kayla had him, they've discussed surrendering him and he's been in and out of hospital for eating shit off of their dirty floors, not to mention being crowded into a two-bedroom apartment with four fucking cats and a shut-in who didn't walk him or play with him. Rest in peace, Clyde. Fingers crossed they don't pick up yet another dog to take his place in the casa de crack.


In September, Kayla revealed that WIC is saving them around $400-$500 a month in baby formula because to everyone's shock and surprise, Beth's baster baby has a milk allergy (link). She then unwittingly implied that they're spending around $1,000 on food a month before accounting for formula, citing around $1.5k- $2k a month in total for a "theoretical" family with multiple kids (link).



$500/month per person on food in Bumfuck Nowhere, Pennsylvania is fucking crazy. The USDA produces monthly cost of food reports at 3 levels: low, moderate, and liberal. Even their most expensive spending plan doesn't exceed $414.70/month for the month of August for a single female between 19-50 years old. They're spending more on food than they are on rent. How do you fuck up your budget that badly?

Regarding SSDI, Kayla could apply, but I highly doubt she would be approved for it. Kayla's strongest qualifier for SSDI is her NF1 diagnosis, and the SSA largely focuses on whether or not that makes you too deaf or retarded to work. However, despite being a gold star retard who would literally rather starve than go look at a food bank, her experience at Taco Bell proves that it's not impossible for her to work or to be trained to work. Her firing wasn't based off of her not being able to do the work, it was based on her being an oppositional self-righteous asswipe to her manager. From the SSA's website (link):



Her mother is also NF1 diagnosed and she's been gainfully employed for the last decade and successfully raised 4 children. She's also in her 50's, doesn't need a granny walker to get around, and is healthy and mobile. I highly doubt Kayla even uses the bright pink granny walker, considering that it was nowhere to be seen on the New Orleans trip. It's just a weird disability LARP accessory that she wasted money on. It exists to get covered in dust and cat hair and stickers in her bedroom.

I think deep down, Kayla doesn't want to apply and be told by the government that there's no meaningful reason for her to be unemployed. Kayla actively avoids experiences that pierce the bubble and show her a life outside of rotting in her bedroom and mooching off of others. The meltdown over realizing that her other family members are loved, accomplished, talented, and hard-working was the most classic Kayla content we've gotten in a while because of that. Having the government tell her off for applying for SSDI for a disorder that largely doesn't seem to be affecting anyone else in her family would just be the rotten cherry on top of the government gib sundae for her.

Actually I don't believe Kayla has any idea how much they spend on food per month and she's just pulling numbers out of her ass there. Tracking and categorizing your expenses is budgeting 101 and the very first step you take towards becoming financially responsible, Kayla would never. She's definitely one of those types that is just shocked repeatedly every two weeks by her emptied bank account.
