those digital systems are only held together by hope, spite, and sheer power of the 1st generation of computer autists. Without the constant flow of maintenance funds and the ability to "patch" major breaches with huge dollar contracts with the 3rd party providers it will fall apart in weeks.

Its kind of an achilles heel the older parts of the gov arent thinking of, every day that goes by there are thousands of network administators and sys admins that are not getting paid and each day their give a shit drops just a little more.

The offense is 4 steps ahead of the defense in cybersecurity as an industry, its just a simple fact. You can REDUCE you chances of being breeched but its down to luck and mitigation when it eventually does happen.

Our adversarys are likely working overtime trying to find a worthwhile gap in our nations networks. Forget the FAA, every day CISA (an organization NONE of you know about but does more than the military every day to keep the average American safe) remains unfunded is a vastly increased chance they find that gap. Now I dont know exactly how much if any of CISA is remaining funded, this info is hard to find up to date as its changing and vague.

It makes Canadian goods less competitive and shrinks the size of the market by pricing out consumers. It also makes American consumers pay higher prices, that's the whole point of them.

One hundred two voting members are in their sixties. In the Senate, one guy is in his nineties. Five in their eighties, 31 in their seventies, 32 in their sixties.

Half of our lawmakers are too old to set up their own smartphones without help from their grandkids, and they are writing laws governing technology that changes and expands faster than they can stand up without peeing themselves.

It's possible to use tariffs in the way you described, but Trump is not doing that, so arguments in that direction are irrelevant.

You're not suddenly going to have Made in America goods, you'll buy the same foreign stuff, just for a higher price. It takes decades to "re-industrialize", and blanket tariffs retard that process.
