it's xenforo. google "xenforo nulled". it's what they call the pirate version.

Also, @Null, do you run any penetration testing suites against the site like Burp? Might be good to start doing that if not already. Can be worked into a deployment pipeline.

After careful consideration I have come to the conclusion it was probably a tranny. I think we should promote a janny to the role of Chief Security Officer. The role will literally do nothing, but it will sound legit and they will make statements that yes, who ever attacked the site is indeed "fake and gay (and fat and they would not have sex with them)".

There are multi-billion dollar businesses that are less forthright and honest about potential breaches to their sites than KF.
Honestly, if businesses operated more like KF does, I'd have more faith in doing business with them.

They hate everyone and are irony poisoned in general, but I will say they are one of the last remaining groups doing it "for the lulz" and I guess with that they are truly the heirs to old 4chan hacker culture who would hack shit just to see if they could and with no other purpose than to MAYBE deface the site a bit.
nulled => webdev slang lingo for cracked
if directory indexes weren't enabled then the only things downloadable were loose objects because .pack filenames aren't referenced anywhere (typically everything pulled after the initial clone unless GC'd)

Amazingly the only modifications made to XenForo here is just some files being ripped out,
the plugins used being added in,
and the styles' assets.
I'd have thought that there would be some modifications done to XF itself to fix things but it's just about stock.
