Just so I understand it correctly. Phonics refers to young children learning the letters and words by sounding it out right? It doesn't mean writing a word like it sounds? Because that's how they fucked up the German system in recent years. By allowing children to write the words like they hear them and not having to learn them at first. (Allows children younger than usual to actually write but they don't write correctly.)
Yeah, phonics is learning by starting with letter sounds. Recent years they've started literally with the whole words and telling children what they mean. This looked good, because that's how you actually read once you're proficient, and can work with the top few percent IQ children to learn in the first place (you know, the professor's kids they tested it on). You're supposed to learn the rules by memorizing the results, but this really doesn't work with English since we're borrowing spelling from like a dozen languages.

They did the same shit with math. Common core math basically taught them by using the shortcuts instead of starting with the basic way to do it. Just because smart or well-practiced people use shortcuts doesn't mean they learned it like that, or that everyone can do it.

The best thing is that all actors' opinions were shown to be completely irrelevant in the last election. The whole cast of the Marvel movies got together to shill for Kamala, and nobody cared. People thought that Hollywood would kind of fade away over time, but they have done everything they can to throw themselves into the abyss as fast as they can.
Behold, the cringiest shit you've ever seen in your life

I think the actual main difference is that the Internet broke the existing mechanisms for controlling narratives,
Wouldn't wish to be born in another time. This is only the third paradigmatic shift of first degree of lasting perception of indirect reality of humans. From the initial paradigm of drawing stuff on cave walls that was largely anarchic, to the monopolistic epistem of only initiated shamans to priest using standardized systems writing on and reading from transportable stone to paper, to the oligopolistic high barrier of entry, capital intensive mass production of information production and explosion of humans able to read it. Now back again to an anarchization of information production and distribution with html.

Those stuck in the epistem of Gutenberg cope as bad with it as the Catholic church did with the printing press. One or another way, teleological materialistic universalistic collectivist ideologies that rely on experts to be perceived as informational authority to retain their power over indirect perception of perception of reality of 'masses' are done for. Just another group of niggers drawing signs on digital cave walls.

May their reality be buried under petabytes of cats with funny hats that don't exist, not to surface again for 1000 years

you had to look up snokhachestvo (Father in law/Daughter in law incest)
"hey comrade, is very tough to be explaining when am father in law but am banging daughter in law"
"da, many such cases, Russian should change"
"you mean not to be fucking daughter?"
"nyet! just am making word for it, faster to say!"
Anybody remember the scandal of the "Dean scream"?
local talk show at the time had it as a Wacky Jock Noise button and would spam it like the dj airhorn noise NYAAAAA-NYAA-NYAA-NYAA-NYAAAAAAAAA

I think the actual main difference is that the Internet broke the existing mechanisms for controlling narratives, so now you hear about a lot of the things they wish you wouldn't, whereas back in those days it was really easy to memoryhole almost anything
I've thought about this quite a bit over the last 10-15 years.

People here and in other places similar talk about the 50's-90's like they were (sometimes) this magical era where things were so much calmer, better and rational.

It's not because things were better by and large. Until 1994, the 24h news cycle didn't exist. Information on what was happening around the world and in your neighborhood was carefully curated and delivered by comforting men on TV who spoke with authority and confidence. Your sensory input regarding the activities outside of your little bubble of life was very limited and prismatic.

The internet destroyed this entire bubble and brought the daily strife of the entire world flooding into your consciousness. Unmitigated, unfiltered and raw. Events that had been happening all along, but you weren't aware of them.

You began to form opinions outside of the prismatic bubble of information being told to you by the confidant man on TV and started to realize that confident man on TV was just reading a script very well. Because holy shit, 148 children were just kidnapped and killed by the government confident man just said our government gave 50 billion dollars to.

Humans are in a period of rapid evolution right now, and I think with AI's development, we're toying with an event horizon that will change society globally forever in some manner.

Knowledge is both a blessing and a curse.

Llms and other generative models are definitely a key technology breaking perception of top down authority. I think what is going to be broken after the information oligopoly is the violence monopoly.

Phenomena like the 'com' mostly inhabited by young Zoomers and Alpha teens are a glimpse into the future. Centralized power relied mostly on the perception of it increasing individual risk doing something 'bad', with more children realizing that it actually doesn't and only a handful of 'bad' people being caught and punished. With that psychological effect gone, a self perpetuating vicious cycle starts. More violence and crime cripples centralized violence monopoly, with the centralized power becoming more violent, leading to more violence.

The world is on its best way to become your average African failed state. Most young man are going to be able to adapt - for women and the elder, the next 50-100 years are going to be a very bad time. I have sympathy for those not yet born, for the bitches that wholeheartedly embraced the dying paradigm of daddy state and the BoomerX pyramid schemers, may their life be cut short

That seems generous given that these are the same Communists who put critical race theory in the schools. People that learn to read using the Whole Language method can only read in a functional way. They can't read long form writing like fiction or history, but they can read well enough for laborers or the US Army even. It seems intentional and malicious to me.

I've said before that the young White men are the new sea people/barbarians.

BoomerX, feminists and their enablers that bet on compulsive buying by women and brainwashed analog old farts imagining them keeping their pyramid scheme afloat asked for it. Anecdotal; I don't have to work for a living and frankly don't want to contribute to 'society' anymore due to overreach and non-punishment of the real fascists during the coof charade bail outs, but nevertheless took on a gig that lets me explore parts of the city that I usually would not frequent. There are so many easy targets it appears like a free buffet for anybody with flexible morals. 30+ women living alone that ate the strong independent woymen meme hook line and sinker, old farts barely able to lift a bag of groceries having two luxury cars parked in front of their mansion... It doesn't take much phantasy or even planning to take em out with little to no risk. And its not by chance that the amount of home invasions, street robberies, pig butchering... Increased exponentially.

The useful idiots are going to reap what they sowed.

THANK YOU, took the words out of my mouth

Im the first mfer to show up to critizie modern women but that girl was just fully focused on her own table and plate. if the other stinky cunt dident turn around and stick her nose in others business she would never have had her face filmed but the 19 IQ libs claimed big happy tits "filmed her without permission"

Moments like this are why I realize there is so much of a gender divide, Women arent all ugly and sad, unhappy women bully and berate the hot and unique ones to the point they just shy away from the public eye so all you see in social media and traditional media is the worst of the worst.

Straight up this poor girl was DANCING IN HER SEAT OVER PANCAKES and people CELEBRATED her ban WHAT THE FUCK? IDk maybe im just spering out over nothing but shit like that feels emblematic of so much.
It isn't a Gender issue, it isn't even a right vs left issue. It's a cultural issue. We've had two generations that were born and raised terminally online and millennials who paved the road to the Sane vs Insane. Not to mention we are addicted to convenience in our luxury spending. Wouldn't be so bad if culture didn't take these negative traits and give them "virtue", read legitimacy, to the ree-tarded youth and the senile power lovers who realize waiting to die is boring as fuck. But like trannies are finding out that they fucked around too long, burning through support held up by frail goodwill. There is going to be a very rude awakening in our futures.

So Arizona DID go ahead and sue...the House of Representatives the other day (link to CourtListener docket) on behalf of that Grijalva chick who still hasn't been sworn in. They must not be very good at suing in Arizona, because they fucked up repeatedly and had to be chastised by the clerk and were forced to correct their filings.

From their corrected complaint, behold the parties in play:

I was not aware you could sue "a legislative chamber" (shades of Russell Greer suing "Kiwi Farms, a website"), but it's also amusing that they're NOT suing Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, the one they've all been bitching about since the shutdown. But he does feature heavily in the complaint itself, throughout the whole thing in fact. Anyhoo, there it is.

Arizona cannot stop fucking up their lawsuit against the "United States House of Representatives, a Legislative Chamber."

They are literally only three docket entries in, and have been smacked down by the clerk for each one. This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite cases to follow. The Arizona AG must have gotten the job by watching Matlock in a bar every night for a few weeks.

Very interesting. Guess they had the balls to actually try to drive into the base instead of the mob trying to walk over the bridge. Automobiles in real life don't work like how they do in videogames or movies, they're very thin. You can see a lot of bullets penetrating completely through and striking the ground in front of the U-Haul ricocheting.

Tldw: only 1 in 30 English Literature Bachelors at a state school coulds read and understand a paragraph of Charles Dickens. That is including access to a dictionary. Instead of teaching phonics postmodernists pushed schools to teach "Whole language" and short stories or sections from longer works. This means they can't access the different parts of words, like "tele" in television meaning "far". They also couldn't sound out words. They also tend to skip words they don't know instead of looking them up. They also don't have the attention span or ability to read even 300 page novels.
Except this video and the study it references are bullshit.
You're telling me that some kids never learned that C-A-R spells car? That pre- means before, and duo means 2 and their 'Birthday' is called that because it is the day they were born? In reality, everybody has taught phonics and knows phonics because they are taught them before they even know how to read—they're taught them when they learn how to speak and understand what they're saying. Some people who were taught phonics were also taught a "whole language" approach (which is really just feminist literary analysis) from a young age. So when they say, "I can't read a whole book", what they really mean is "I know my teacher is liberal and wants me to make a 20-hour comprehensive video essay with feminist play-by-play commentary on each action taken in the book."

Also, on the task for the students "translate grief into modern-day English" there is inherent ambiguity in the instruction: should the student create a literal translation, a localization, or an explanation of what's happening? This study looks like it considered every student who didn't create a localized version to be illiterate. I think the study also failed to consider the student's motives. Their motive isn't to prove they are literate, their motive is to get a good grade. Skipping words or using context clues to infer their meaning is a common reading technique, since the definition can often be clearly understood later in the text by synonyms or repeated usage in different contexts; skip or guess is also frequently used on tests and homework and is an effective time management skill. School is a game of time/reward management and this project could easily double or triple in effort by attempting to look up every unknown word, that would only result in a difference of a few points. Students will do the bare minimum to get the grade they need because they need manage work and grades for all the other classes as well.

I think this study should have been done better and have had clearer goals, incentives, and instructions the students. I think they also should have sampled seniors instead since everyone knows "Freshman English Major" is code for "I haven't decided on a major yet, so I'll do the gen-ed requirements."

What I am amazed at in the gay Canada ad is it acts like the US just out of nowhere imposed tariffs, as the part of the Reagan quote they use specifically mentions if you tariff the other country retaliates....

....which is what the US is finally doing after years of faggotry by the disgusting brown leafs. And that's not even talking about the cut out last part of that Reagan quote where he says tariff use is something the executive branch needs to have to carry international power.

on the whole word thing, I recall phonics being the freakish outlier like Montessori style schooling for much of my elementary school
I learned phonics in preschool so I could read circles around everybody, but I recall elementary public structured "okay, here's the words to learn from this lesson, here's how to pronounce and spell these words, NOT how to apply this widely, and what the words mean relative to this lesson"

Spelling was the first thing to go, then they moved on to Whole Language where kids memorize symbol groups like CAR instead of C-A=R. The (((people))) pushing Whole Language also tried to shame white parents into not teaching their kids to read, calling it Whiteness and White Privilege.
