Tldw: only 1 in 30 English Literature Bachelors at a state school coulds read and understand a paragraph of Charles Dickens. That is including access to a dictionary. Instead of teaching phonics postmodernists pushed schools to teach "Whole language" and short stories or sections from longer works. This means they can't access the different parts of words, like "tele" in television meaning "far". They also couldn't sound out words. They also tend to skip words they don't know instead of looking them up. They also don't have the attention span or ability to read even 300 page novels.
I can explain this actually, for some reason a decade or so ago the school system switched from Phonics (teaching children how to sound out words) to just having them memorize whole words to pass tests, yes its as bad as it sounds.

here is a video of a much smarter lady than me explaining it and how her forcing Mississippi to go back to Phonics took them from worst in the nation in literacy to 6th best

HIGHLY ENCOURAGE EVERY AMERICAN TO WATCH THIS

The woman in the original video actually talks specifically that not teaching phonics was the reason. I sometimes wonder how gimped I was by being in public school and essentially having to teach myself how to write.

Here's the text that the English kids were told to REWRITE. Not analyze, rewrite in modern parlance.

on a case by case basis, some of you niggas are alright by me. i wouldn't even push for welper to get deported either.
@Hey Johnny Bravo gotta go though (lol)
Does anyone have the Interview with a Vampire pic of the aristocrats looking disdainfully down at the plebs? That's what having an ancestor on the Mayflower feels like. I'm pretty sure at least half, maybe most, of the Ellis Islander Irish aren't even semi-assimilated yet. Just look at how that Irish-American guy treated his Hafu daughter who's now in the Japanese government, just shameful.

Someone close to me is doing an English degree and training to be a teacher. This person took a 500 level college class. All but one of their classmates use AI to cheat. That one classmate hired this person as a tutor and after 10 hours refining a major essay, produced this:

1761276722044.png

It got a B.

This classmate is a senior. She will graduate with an English degree despite hating reading and using AI to summarize everything. The college will have received over 30k a year for "educating" her.

Most of the teachers in training are flavors of brown who also cheat. The curriculum is rooted in racial grievances, urging teachers to consider their students personal life and be easy on them. It's expected that the elementary students they are teaching have faced significant trauma. It's rare that they have both their parents in their life.

Student teaching was hard for the person I know. The urban school system beats down these children. One story that stuck out to me was that a 7 year old boy was afraid of bees to the point of hating recess because he didn't want to risk going outside and being stung. He would be forced to go outside and have daily anxiety attacks where he cried by himself due to this severe phobia. His teacher would tell him to man up and be quiet but that didn't do anything.

This person I know saw him crying and asked what was wrong. When he explained what's going on, this person explained how bees work and that they don't want to sting people, telling him that the bees are looking for flowers. If he doesn't want to be stung, he should simply stay still until the bee goes away.

He stopped crying and his fear went away. The next day, he brought this person a drawing he made of bees and flowers to show his appreciation.

What struck me about this story is that this child was having daily anxiety attacks for weeks and the teacher didn't bother helping him. This teacher was considered especially nice in the school. The other teachers screamed and insulted the children. It was fine to belittle the children and call them annoying, just don't commit a racial microaggression while doing it.

Americans schools need to be reformed from the ground up.

Christ, that's a double-whammy for the dems; first it removes a massive bargaining chip (i.e. holding the troops' pay hostage), and second it's going to drive them fucking nuts trying to figure out/unmask/massacre whoever ponied up that money. Then once they figure out who it is, they'll do everything they can to make it sound "illegal" to pay a fucking soldier for doing his job.

lol they're fucked. Again.
Would be pretty funny if the "anonymous donor" was actually Trump himself, and he's playing it up to send the Dems on a wild goose chase.

Are him and Elon on good terms again? Last I checked Elon was being an autist about something or other.

Listen nigger, I like you alot but Johnny was one of the people who helped me figure out this thread, my people were in the rev to, he gets to stay.
I was poking fun at Johnny, i wasn't beign serious.

back on topic though, apparently hakeem the retard is going to start impeachment hearings over the ball room

Its amazing to me how unaware the rest of the world remains about the shift of political dynamics in America. Trump isn't just "A" President. He is "The" President. The leftists bitching about "no kings" are for once in their lives not entirely wrong. Trump IS a Monarch. An elected one to be sure, but a Monarch nonetheless.

The most common phrase in American politics right now is "you can just do things" with reference to everything from Trump blowing up cartel boats with air strikes to demolishing the east wing of the white house. Trump has been remarkably restrained domestically because he seems determined to work within the legal restraints of his office. But such restraint does not apply internationally. The US President can do whatever the fuck he wants abroad short of ordering an invasion.

What is this trash?

Its over!

The same people that burn american flags seem to really care about the american white house for some reason.
They hate it because it means Trump will be permanently leaving his mark on the White House in a way that'll be difficult for the next Democratic president to remove, there's nothing more to it despite how they're suddenly pretending to care about American history and tradition. They'll go right back to tut-tutting about how the White House was built by slaves and all the founding fathers they're briefly pretending to venerate were evil slave owners when a black grifter is speaking.

That is way harder than you may think. Take the first paragraph from your link:
London. Michaelmas term lately over, and the Lord Chancellor sitting in Lincoln’s Inn Hall. Implacable November weather. As much mud in the streets as if the waters had but newly retired from the face of the earth, and it would not be wonderful to meet a Megalosaurus, forty feet long or so, waddling like an elephantine lizard up Holborn Hill. Smoke lowering down from chimney-pots, making a soft black drizzle, with flakes of soot in it as big as full-grown snowflakes—gone into mourning, one might imagine, for the death of the sun. Dogs, undistinguishable in mire. Horses, scarcely better; splashed to their very blinkers. Foot passengers, jostling one another’s umbrellas in a general infection of ill temper, and losing their foot-hold at street-corners, where tens of thousands of other foot passengers have been slipping and sliding since the day broke (if this day ever broke), adding new deposits to the crust upon crust of mud, sticking at those points tenaciously to the pavement, and accumulating at compound interest.
What do the first three sentences mean in modern English?
It was a beautiful late November day in London.
Good luck figuring that out without someone telling you the meaning. Even a dictionary won't help unless you're careful to look at the dates of the definitions as they've changed over time.

Dickens is full of stuff like this that English teachers do not explain and kids do not care about understanding 1850s references. His books are also the 19th century equivalent of soap operas and are written in an excessively long and drawn out episodic manner in order to sell more magazines, which makes them annoying to read in one sitting instead of one chapter a week.

Nigga who the fuck cares about this white house shit. They could demolish the whole thing and make it a parking lot for all I care because it doesn't effect 99.99% of American's daily lives. The vast majority of people will never even see the thing in person.

All this grand standing and hot dogging is the most pedantic bullshit imaginable.
It's a symbol that represents America, you might as well say Christians can't use the ichthys fish symbol.

That being said the "symbol" is really just the middle part, as almost all imagery of the white house people are familiar with crops out the wings so it doesn't really matter all that much what they look like as long as they match the asthetics.

They also wont get rid of the ballroom either. The fact that State Dinners had to be pitched in tents on the lawn has been a recurring bitch for 50 years but no President has had the political capital or the will to actually do something about it. Once its built even if the democrats by some miracle get the white house they will just quietly forget the entire thing.
