Its a cute effort but lacks any teeth whatsover, Biden more or less did this back in 2022
This is what they looked like in 2020, they just pivoted.

Like Id love someone to explain what this move does AT ALL other than antagonize?

In a truly bizarre and strange turn of events, commentary YouTuber Turkey Tom of all people was reached out to by an anonymous individual close to the Charlie Kirk assassin (Tyler Robinson) & his trans boyfriend for six years, showcasing never-before-seen Discord logs and insider information painting a bigger picture of them both:

I need a Johnny Bravo version of "if only you knew how bad things really are."
Diffusion models correctly prompted will deliver that for free. On the bright side, it might sound unintuitive but its still time to get cheap into the only yield bearing assets that are likely only going to correct 20% when the inevitable happens over the optimistic next 10 years, default, long term US T-Bonds over 3%. TLT, SPLT, VGLT and co are still a bargain

The President wants to exert pressure to push Russia toward peace but the efforts to do so appear to be going nowhere.
Im saying this is not, KIND OF political theater, im saying it IS political theory full stop, not in like an aggresive or "im super right and your wrong" way, I just dont understand what the president thinks he can gain from this, we sanctioned the shit out of russia oil in 2022,

once again ill refer to this graph showing total russian oil export in 2020

Notice how diverse it is with lots of EU nations

Ok now the 2023 one (mot up to date graph I could find at glance but shows the point)

India, Singapore and China as well as turkey to a large extent are not nations we can "bully" or intimidate to do what we want, they are either to powerful or to stupid to play ball and so beyond SEEMING like its going nowhere this "act" or whatever you want to call it on trumps part is actually 100% ineffective as all the people that MIGHT comply with it already have.

meanwhile China is putting Trumps balls in a vise with the Rare Earth Minerals

Ive seen bad diplomacy, ive even seen stupid diplomacy but ive never quite seen what we are seeing here and I say that as a guy who voted for the fucker. We are bluffing holding an off suit 2 and 8 with only an UNO card up our sleeve. (I mean Economically, dont get it twisted)

"For the first time in American history, the court court ruled immigration judges can no longer grant bond for undocumented immigrants who entered the U.S. without authorization, all but guaranteeing mandatory detention for those detained."

The sanctions the US has put on Russia has done nothing but strengthen the Russian economy and hurt Europe's. But when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. There is not anything the US, or the world, can do to stop Russia from getting what they want accomplished in Ukraine. Trump still needs to look like he is doing something and this is it. It's pointless and useless and im sure everyone but the plebs know it.

The United States can certainly use diplomatic measures to deal with Singapore and Turkey but I do agree that larger nations like India, China and Russia are harder to handle. Trump is sometimes a little too keen to give foreign leaders the benefit of doubt, even ones renowned for their ruthlessness, so he makes mistakes with them. Foreign policy has to be tailored to the circumstances of an individual country, nothing is a one size fit all solution.

My predictions are that the USA will gradually increase its support for Ukraine or give Putin more of a free hand (even if that isn't an intentional goal). The Russians have adapted to the sanctions that were put on them in the first place so they aren't as economically shocking anymore unfortunately. The President has attempted numerous times to bring the Russo-Ukrainian War to a close but such a deal seems as elusive today as it did when he got back into office. He'll have to make some sort of decision on his stance eventually. A trade conflict with China will continue in some way, neither side can afford to lose face on the issue and lots of money is at stake. Finally, India is an opportunist state trying to profit off of playing the Americans and the Russians against each other.

I can't imagine the chimping out in this thread if these same moves were being played by a Dem administration, though.
